I am 26 years old and have been a tobacco user for over 10 years now. I have tried to quit in the past (the longest stoppage being about 2-3 months) only to fail time and time again. I used to think it was due to the stress of being a collegiate athlete, and I kept telling myself that once my athletic days were done that quitting would be easy because the stress to perform would be gone. As we all know, stress tends not to go away. Upon finishing up my athletic career, I went to law school where the stress increased. I am still a law student starting my third and final year. Again, I've kept lying to myself and saying that once law school and exams are over, it'll be easy to quit. Well after law school comes life as a lawyer and all the more stress and reasons to continue dipping.
I am tired of dipping. I know that it's terrible for me. I am an intelligent person, so why in the world would I continue doing something that ends with me in an early grave? Enough is enough, and today is the day that I start my quit. I'm currently engaged to a wonderful girl. I recently found out that I've got a great job waiting for me when I finish law school. Things are going far too good for me to ruin my life with this addiction.
If any of you have any advice for me, please give it. I'm all ears and looking for help. Also, instructions regarding joining a group and how the quit process works would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks,

Yea buddy, the stress, it doesn't go away! Nicotine doesn't make it any better, it actually makes it worse. As your quit grows, you'll find it easier and easier to deal with it. Advice...
Most importantly... head over to the
Welcome Center and learn how to post roll.
then head over to
the quit groups find your new quit group November'12 (that means in November you'll reach 100 days aka the hall of fame). Use the newly learned information and POST ROLL.
Also, i'll try to find some quit balls, quittin aint easy buddy, but the it's worth it. Go get you some seeds, hard candy, atomic balls, tooth picks, drink TONS of water, Cranberry juice (it's suppose to help with the withdrawls), and whatever else it takes not to put the shit in your mouth.
Check your inbox, I'm sending you my number, use it or not, reach out and get more of them. Your quit brothers will be the most important tool in your quit.
Glad to be quit with you today,
Bruce
