Well it has been 26 long days but doing well. Still fighting some cravings headaches and being lightheaded. Wanted to get some opinions on herbal chew. Does anyone feel that if they do herbal chew it is harder to stop due to the oral addiction or crave the nic bitch more? My wife and I were taking about this and she felt that it my be hard with the herbal chew. All I know is to much gum is making my jaw sore and I can not do sunflower seeds. All opinions welcome.
Herbal is great in the beginning. I used it for my first 70 days then I just quit it too. Easy to drop that one. Today I posted day 538 so I guess it didn't hurt my quit.

Seeds and Atomic Fireballs tore me up. Herbal was a better choice
^^^ good advice from Raider, I will add on that variety is important, fake, gum, candy, Toothpicks, mix up it up and anything is better than the poison we put in before...
I wonder if you have made some modifications in your food or water intake when you stopped the dip: are you eating less food or less frequently, changed what you are eating, changed how much you are exercising, taking in less fluids, drinking more alcohol, etc.-- maybe this is contributing to the headaches and lightheadedness.

I stayed away from the herbal dip so I could be off of dip altogether but still suck on lot of wintergreen lifesavers. From reading people's comments, it seems like they tend to stop the herbal after several months without really thinking about it. You aren't trading one addiction for another by using herbal.
I used the herbal stuff for about 6 months or so upon quitting, I needed that mental trick. It was way too easy to just grab a tin off of a coworker, so I opted to have my rescue strategy. When the time came that I no longer need the placebo, I just quit. I actually gave my fake to another potential quitter.

My gums hurt after I finished the herbal for a spell but it was short-lived. I say do what works for you to stop tobacco and nicotine use, then deal with the little things later.
"If you want to quit then stop talking and just QUIT. If you want to kill yourself a bullet is cheaper and faster than a tin, plus it eliminates my hearing you whine and cry like a bitch."

Best thing I have read on KTC...Submitted by tgafish on 7/3/14
