I am going to keep it simple. Today, I will quit with you. Come back tomorrow, make your promise and I will plan on doing the same. So far it has worked for the last 621 days for me. You can do it

I understand that it is one day at a time, however to be successful at anything in life you need to set a long term goal and work every minute to achieve that goal. This is me stating my long term goal. It really is more for me to put it out in public that I am quitting. I want to get my goal out there and that I have.
I hear what you are saying, but this is addiction we are talking about, not a portfolio. I couldn't think of "quitting forever" the first month of my quit, sometimes the next minute was all I could bear. Stick to the method and the terminology, this is the only successful way I have ever been quit.

I quit with you today.
Your goals on quitting set in the past have failed.
Goals are on paper.
Here it's about your identity...your integrity.... Your promise to real people.
Drink the cookaid...
Just focus on today.
Be still.
Listen to wisdom.
Post roll EDD ODAAT.
Im successful by not worrying about tomorrow.
Let tomorrow worry about itself.
Set a goal to not touch nicotine today.
Then repeat.
I quit with you today

ODAAT
I believe.....

Jim, you're in the right place. Listen to all of these BAQ (Bad Ass quitters). I was in your shoes just over a month ago; this place works, man: ODAAT (one day at a time).

Embrace the suck! Drink your fluids. Post roll. Read the forums. You got this.

Yeah, today is way too long to be thinking about. How about the next few hours, or minutes. Get through today if you can.

We quit one day at a time. Any more, and we look to far into the future and can fail today. If we quit for less than today, then we know we have failed.

Let's start with today and see if that gets us closer to being quit. That has always worked for me...

Congrats on posting your Day 1 Promise not to use Nic today. What a great decision and Welcome to KTC. We are a just a group of people who have decided to take control of our addiction. My story is pretty much exactly like yours. The secret to success is to post roll early, keep your word, rinse and repeat. Beyond that, the brotherhood and accountability are also critical. Read, read, read more. Exercise and drinking lots of water will help in the first few days.

I was also a ninja dipper. I mostly hid it from everyone. I can tell you that I'm most certainly not a ninja quitter, pretty much everyone I know is now aware of my addiction and battle.

Once again welcome and congrats on the best decision you'll every make.

Proud to quit with you today!!
Tomorrow marks the 9 year anniversary of you being gone. I can't believe all that has happened since you have been gone, 3 of the 4 have graduated high school, 2 of the 4 graduated college, 1 had a baby, we all have jobs, we all got our licenses. I honestly never thought I would make it this far. I so wish that you could be here with me, Alexa, Connor, and Tori. Seeing all of the things we have accomlished...and everything that we still have yet to accomplish. Graduating high school, moving in at college, graduating college, having kids, buying a house, baseball games, first jobs, first girlfriends/boyfriends. I know that you are proud of each and everyone of us, but I/we need to hear it from you. We want you to be here to tell us "Nice pitch", "Congratulations on graduating", "Have I told you I loved you yet today?" (which Kenra and I try to do everyday now :)) It is sometimes just hard to get through the day. And to think...all this over a stupid dip...who would have thought?

Your disdain for the slavery you have endured for far too long will give you ammo in this fight, but you have to want to do this with every shred of your being. If you do not, nicotine will slip through the cracks and find a way back into your life. As Pete said, take things a single day at a time. Hell, the first week or so, I was taking things one hour at a time. Whatever it takes. You can win this battle today. You WILL win this battle today. Keep telling yourself that if you need to. If you need a distraction, get on here and read everything you can. If you need some motivation or support, get into your quit group and let them know what's going on.

First things first though, get into Feb 16 and post roll. Commit to that promise and under NO circumstances break that promise today. There is not a single good reason to use nicotine today. Not one. You've got this, but you have to jump in with both feet, Jim.
"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597

Welcome to KTC Jim. We are all about Accountability and Brotherhood. It is simple, we don't "try", we quit. We quit for today. don't look too far ahead, just keep it simple, One Day At A Time (ODAAT). It is not easy, but every member here has been exactly where you sit, and every one of us has found our way through the suck of the first week and the fog that accompanies it.

Swing on over to the February quit group and post roll. It is your promise that no matter how hard it gets, you will remain nicotine free today. Each of the February quitter does the same each and every morning.

Go to "Quit Groups", then scroll down to "Pre HOF Feb 2016 Quit group", then go to the higher page number and find the most recent roll post. Tap quote, then cut (not copy) everything on the lower box and paste it into the upper one. Add your name and # of days quit to the bottom of the February quitter list. Then buckle up, you have made a great decision.

I quit with you today!

Quitting for good
« on: November 10, 2015, 12:27:00 PM »
I've been dipping since I was 16, and I am ready once and for all to quit. I am sick of wasting my life away on this drug. I took one look in the mirror today at work and saw my gums rotting away with every dip. I decided I am committed finally. I have tried in the past and failed. I have lied to my loved ones about it, hid it from everybody. This will not be easy, but I am ready to finally quit. I promise right now That I will never put that poison into my lip ever again!
