I'm aggressive! And all of this makes me happy. I'm here to quit the one thing I hate about myself, my addiction to chew. It has ruled me and I wont be controlled anymore!

It's always funny to me how a new person posts an intro here and then logs off immediately. Post and run. I remember when I joined. I was so desperate for help and answers I kept refreshing the screen to see if anyone responded. Always a bad sign to me when we put in all the effort and the new person isn't even around to invest themselves. Coleen will probably read these posts on the first day of lent.

You aren't really quitting, what you are planning sounds a lot like a nicotine "fast." I've done a ton of those in the past. I'd go a weekend or a week without dip to prove to myself I could quit anytime I wanted, and that nicotine wasn't my master. I'd usually celebrate the end of the fast by purchasing a sleeve of cope and binge dipping in the deer woods. Good luck with the fast, but that's not really what we do here at KTC.

So do we sound harsh? Maybe but we are passionate about quitting nicotine and part of this passion is channeled into helping other like we have been helped. We don't and can't tolerate weakness, because this is seriously one of the most difficult things we've done and it required 100% commitment. This isn't a game to be played and we won't be used for a joke! What's your answer to everyone?
Ill quit when I get married, Ill quit when I turn 40, Ill quit for new years blah, blah, blah. I've used the lent quit before and it wasn't until I found these bad asses that i saw the light. Quit with me right now and when lent gets here you'll be a couple weeks into your quit

I am quitting for Lent.  I have been looking at natural supplements that help with cravings, mood, etc.  I was hoping for someone who has actually tried some products to suggest some for me.  I started chewing when I was 13 am and now 40.  This is going to be hard.  I quit Copenhagen 3 years ago and have been chewing skoal.  Yes, there is a difference. :)  Thanks, in advance, any and all help will be appreciated.
Let's see, 13 to 40 , that's 27 years of slavery. That's 27 years you've been addicted to one of the most addictive drugs known to man. If you want to quit for lent you will fail, DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME.

The only way you break free from the poison is if you want to quit for YOURSELF. When you are finally tired of being a slave to a filthy disgusting can of poison. When your tired of handing over your hard earned money to something that only does one thing well. It takes until there is nothing left to take.

Let me and 1000's of others that have used this site to quit know when YOU are serious. This site is here to help YOU, but YOU have to really want it.

I recommend you begin reading all the information on this site. Learn your enemy it knows you. Go to the top left and read how and why we post roll. Pay particular attention to why. We're here when You get serious.
We don't quit for lent here. We quit for ourselves and we do it one day at a time.

No difference between Copenhagen and skoal from our perspective. They both contain nicotine and that is what we are quitting.

You are a slave to nicotine. Are you gonna quit or is this just for lent? Sounds like your plan is 40 days and back to the can. That is a waste of your time. Try eliminating sweets or red meat from your diet. Those are better lent quits.

First of all, being Episcopalian, I get the whole giving something up for Lent.

However, I really dont think that Jesus is gonna be happy with you giving up a poison for 40 days and then starting up again.
You may not necessarily need the support, but others most definitely do. Be a shining beacon for others. Blaze the path for them to follow!!!

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

WHAT???? Quitting for Lent? Are you gonna chew again after Lent? I cant welcome you until I understand this a little better!
Colleen, If you are serious about your quit you would quit now and forever. Just like jumping in cold water but its a jump you have to make. Lent will come and go you must quit now .. tonight 2/24/2014 if you are serious. the site is full of people willing to help you but you must first want to quit. Saying that you are quitting for lent is not the statement of someone that wants to quit makes... just saying most people here had heard the song before....Please do not get put off by some of the comments, its just that they have heard these words too often.

^^^^^ Agreed! Gladly welcome you as a quitter! And any help or advice you need is for the asking. But please think about your quit date. It needs to be today! What if the next dip is the one that makes a cell mutate and gives you cancer?

Ditto Jake...WHAT??? Lent isn't until 3/5, then ends 4/17. If you're her just to quit for Lent and not quit for good, you may well be in the wrong place. Please explain, people here quit for good, one day at a time. Cold turkey, for you that would be today...right now.

I agree....we don't just quit for 40 days. We quit everyday....over and over and over again until we are able to beat the bitch that has taken so much from us. Besides, please don't tell me you are going to go through the hell of quitting just to plan on crawling back into the can
