I am RI Quitter.
My story is probably the same as yours. 20+ year dipper that never could find the right time or the right reason to quit. Oh, I had planned to quit many times. After getting married, after having first kid, then second kid, after my 30th birthday, then 35th birthday. Then, just like most of us, I found some BS excuse why now just isnt' the right time. Stress at work, stress at home, stress from a move, family member is sick and dying.
Finally, just realized that I was being controlled by a f@$*ng tin can, and my health was on the line. If I am not here to be a father to my children, then who is going to do it for me?
Doing some research online, I found a website that talked about a process to quit. So I joined and threw away my can of kodiak on September 15, 2011. Nothing special about that day, other than it was the day that I finally grew up enough to take control. Anyway, that site has vets on it, similiar to this one. He mentioned how he posted roll on two different sites just to keep himself accountable, and now to give back to the newbies. That led me to this site and me joining this group as well.
That's the condensed version of who I am and how I got here. But through the grace of God, I found these sites and I am committed to my Quit.
