i have not put that poison in my mouth since Saturday July 13th and do not plan to do so again. thankyou everyone for helping me
Good that you are not planning a cave, but will not is a better mindset than do not plan to... I know what you ment but it helps to fight mind games with mindsets.
Damn good point B-lo, when I went to bed I was thinking about that statement too. But I wasnt quite sure what to say about it. I did not want to discourage baseball man here.

BBM, I think what Matt is getting at here is this.

Failuring to plan is planning to fail. We have all heard that old saying, well it couldnt be more true on the subject of quitting.

You need a well thought out highly detailed quit plan. What are you gonna actively doto be CERTAIN that the poison doesnt land in you mouth again?? The craves will come, you will be tempted, you will be challenged, triggers will rock you when you least expect it.

Here is a start.
1. post roll early and keep your word
2. get numbers from your group and others
3. print, read the contract to cave, keep in wallet
4. stock up on fake, seeds, jerkey, atomic fireballs whatever
5. exercise and stay hydrated
6. reach out and make a few friends, texts are a life saver when triggers arise
7. update your intro periodically, these old addicts are anxious to help a quitter in need, and they advice they have to offer is from personal experience
8. etc

Keep up the great work BBM

i was just alerted that i have been posting roll in the wrong area. oct supporters group and not quitter group? ok i will look again when i post tomorrow. this is not the most user friendly website (coming from a software guy)

anyway i wanted to say thanks again for all the encouragement. i am hanging tough and realizing some of what i was missing out on while practicing my old habits. I heard it takes 21 days to break a habit but i realize i need to work at this the rest of my life.

i wanted to share a little more about myself..im from the northwest side of chicago. grew up near elston  belmont then moved to lawrence  pulaski area as a teenager. the marines sent me to san diego california in 1995 and ive been here ever since.

Nice work baseballman. Yeah roll is a little confusing, but you will master it. Breaking the shackles of nicotine is definately a challenge but it can be done. You are on the right road, learn the tools, use the tools. Reach out for support. I quit with you today.

BBman, congrats on one week!  That's a great accomplishment.  Quit with you today!
Thankyou Weasel. Last night and this morning were tough but i got through it. Those situations come up where my brain is trained be a sneak. Different mindset now but learning to adjust and proud of my change.
Whoa, Bball man dude nice reply you are getting it. Do you have numbers if you need another PM me. Always vigilant is how you have to be. If you feel weak around large gatherings with booze go early leave soon as you feel your spidey senses tingling PROTECT your quit above everything else... It is acceptable to be selfish about it in the beginning until you develop the tools skills and numbers in your phone
Always give yourself credit for the successes because you deserve it. Quitting is really a huge accomplishment even this one day. I'm still proud each day of my win.
