Roll call is your daily opportunity to tell the world you are a tough mother fucker. Your opportunity to tell yourself you own this, that you are in control. Your opportunity to join a bunch of folks with resolve, backbone and purpose.

Mike,

Don't Let three years turn into 23 years! Post roll and give your promise now. You can do this but only with a committment.

You're so lucky that you have come to the brilliant realization after only a few short years of the the nasty.

Welcome. Quit with us everyday.

You can do this Michaela. If you're anything like I was, you're probably feeling as if you can't imagine doing half the things you do without a chew in. If you stick with this and post roll every day, you will surprise yourself. The physical symptoms go away quickly. You will surprise yourself and find that the mental part, the daily triggers, fades away pretty quickly. After a couple of times of sitting in traffic without a chew in, you won't think too much about chew the next time you're in traffic. Same goes for mowing the lawn, watching tv, taking a crap, anything. You are smart to be addressing this 3 years into it. Almost everyone on this site wishes they had been smart or disciplined enough to quit after three years. That would have been 17 years ago for me. Quitting 17 years ago would have saved me thousands of hours of wasted late night tv just to get a peaceful chew in. I would have had so many better weekends with my wife and kids instead of being grumpy and jonesing for my next dose of nicotine. I would have felt so much better about myself and my future if I had quit then. I would have saved so many wasted hours of worrying about cancer or living a shorter life because of chew. The damn logistics of hiding cans, spitters, chew breath, running out of chew, spilling chew spit on your clothes, etc. would have been eliminated and I could have spent my energy on more meaningful things. You are smart to quit now. If you cave, you will blink your eyes and you will be back here 17 years later with 17 years of wasted time and regret. Stick with this. I am proud to quit with you.

Welcome michaela. Glad to have you aboard. Like Med said, you are making a very wise decision. If you could see 100 days ahead from now, you will know that it may be the best decision you ever make. This decision will affect so many different facets of your life -- you won't believe me until you see it for yourself. You got a tough road ahead of you, but many of us have been in your shoes and are still quit 100, 500, 1000 days later. Post roll early and often and worry about one day at a time. You can do this. Do not be afraid to reach out for help when you need it.

I'm very glad that you have quit.

Unfortunately, it is not a "habit" you are getting rid of. You are controlling your actions from this point forward. You are an addict, and you always will be an addict. You need to reconcile yourself to this.

I made the decision 64 days ago today. It was the greatest decision I've ever made.

Your next few days are going to suck. Make sure to drink lots of water, and limit your caffeine. You'll be jittery enough as it is. Have a plan so that you don't find yourself wandering into a gas station and buying a can. Have sunflower seeds, toothpicks, fake chew (Smokey Mountain Snuff, Hooch, etc), anything to keep that shit out of your lip. In about 3-4 days (when you don't think you can take another day of it), you will feel much better. That is when the nicotine is out of your system. The physical part will be over.

But, I digress.

Quit today.

Come back tomorrow and post roll (early in the day)

repeat

That's all you should worry about.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

Wise decision, michaela. I just posted roll and quit right along with you today. Make sure you post roll in the December quit group and promise that you won't use nicotine for the rest of the day. Yes, the next few weeks are going to be hard, but you'll feel a sense of liberation as you swear that nasty shit off until tomorrow. Welcome!
