Hey guys sorry about not posting more since I quit but I'd like to tell yall that i have not caved yet!! My life has been a roller coaster lately with family, girls, school....but it kept my mind off the grizzly. Its been almost two months and in those two months my grades have gone up, I met an amazing girl that never would have been able to get before now, lost 15 lbs and I just feel 100% better. But, I thought of yall last night when I went to a pool party with some of my buddys and after boozing for a few hours my friend handed me a can of grizzly. I just looked at it for a minute and then I packed it and opened it up. Then it hit me...that the stuff smells like shit and I told him hell no and dumped it in the pool. (which sounded like a good idea at the time) He called me this morning and asked me how I was able to quit. I told him about this site and he's decided to try quitting himself. Thanks for the support!!

Texas----I cant say much more than everybody else already did in here..
when I first started my"quit' I wasnt a member of this site..I lasted 7 days before family issue's preassured me into dipping..I then stumbled across this magnificant site called Killthecan.org..Best thing to ever happen to my quit life,no Joke.

Stay strong, stick to the spits, stay very close to this site and get to know everyone, and if your friends every offer you another Dip...tell em to fuck off and get a life, and that you have better things to do with your life than put black shit in your lip and look like a fucking goof...

I know where your coming from to man,Im grad'n in about two weeks,so your not the only member that is fairly young on this site.We must stay strong brother!

Good luck to ya---I hope to see you post roll ASAP--- :D

Alright, I woke up this morining and instead of buying my usual I got a bag of sunflower seeds!! After staying up late reading some of the horor stories I've decided to quit while I still remeber how I felt without the can. I'm gunna quit this for good!! After discussing with my roomate he's agreed to not mess with me for a couple days. Should I avoid being in places where I usually dip and go to the library and study or should I just try to keep my normal routine?

Thanks Buck that was the kick in the ass that I needed. (excuse my french)
you'll learn quickly that you don't need to excuse your language around these parts ;)

AWESOME decision my man... congrats!

as for your routine... i'd probably tell you to stick with your normal routine but come up with a way to deal with those triggers... whether it's with fake dip, gum, candy, etc.

the one exception to that would be when it comes to drinking. that's a HUGE trigger for most people and it leads to a ton of caves. try to stay away from the booze for a couple of days until you've got some legs to your quit.

Let me start off by giving my background:

I am a college sophmore. I have been dipping since my 17th birthday, what started off as something to do durring lunch with my buddys has become a can a day of grizzly addiction. Lately I have caught alot of flack from my roommate and women about my addiction. I have tried to quit many times over the last few months but before every exam I just can't handle the cravings.

My final exams are coming up and I know I must quit before I go home for the summer. What should I do, quit now just before the exams or wait until I am finished and quit when I have less pressure on me?
Do it now. In 2034 (26 years from now) you'll be moaning how your blood pressure is high, how you have no wind when you're exercising, how your gums are receded to the point that the roots are showing, how your car is littered with dried spit cans, how your wife refuses to kiss you any more, how you had mouth surgery because the dip was interfering with how your saliva glands work, blah blah blah. Don't think it can happen? Everything above happened to me plus much more during my 26 year stint . To go 26 years from how old I was when I quit will put me at 71 and wondering where the time went. The stress excuse will keep repeating over and over because you will always have stress. Quit now, don't look back.

Texas,

If you keep putting it off until you don't have any pressure you'll never quite.
Just man up and quit now while your young and alive. Cancer doesn't care if your 16 or 106 when it strikes. I had a can or better a day habit for 30 years and have quit with the help of this site. That's my 2 cents.
i agree with buck here -- if you don't quit now it'll be AT LEAST another year (when you're headed home for the summer NEXT year) before you think about quitting again...

you've got momentum now... get r done my man. we can help.
