200+ days on your own....congratulations! If you quit after Jan 22, you belong to the May 08 quit group. Head over there and post up an introduction. This quitting thing is much easier with the support you will find here.

if you quit the end of january you're right around (or above) 200 days quit. remember that you're dealing with stuff for the first time dip free (summer, fall, etc.)

also, getting involved in the site will help as well... i see that you joined the site in may and have a total of two posts. while that works for some people the whole point of THIS site is to get involved and share our struggles -- together.

head over to the april or may 2008 quit group (based on when you quit) and introduce yourself... this is your "home" quit group and those folks are at the same stage of their quit as you are.

i always tell people to "go back to basics" when they have a rough stretch. water, working out, fake snuff, etc. whatever helped to get you past those first couple of weeks. you're in a funk and it will subside.

hang in there and remember those first couple of weeks. i can almost promise you that no matter how bad you're feeling today, you STILL feel a hell of a lot better than you did then.

The only stopping ideas are YOU wanting to stay quit. Sign roll call and make your promise. Any time you have craves read everything you can on this site. I'll be the first one to tell you that you'll have craves almost everyday, but look at the big picture- how much money you're saving, other peoples perception of you, and most importantly YOU knowing that you can and will beat this bitch down. MSG me or about anyone else on this site if you're feeling down.

The short answer is no. It takes time. Stayin involved on this site can make things easier. Things get easier everyday. You just have to saty quit. Right now, I feel great. The quit is great. Life is great. I'm on day 201. It's alot of work. But things get better. If you want a sort of play by play, see my introduction section.

Whatever you do, caving will not help anything. And you can never have just one. That is a lie.

Gnose,

If you've gone 100 days then you have won a major battle, mind you not the war but a battle. From here on out it is mind control, you need to condition yourself to react to your triggers in a different way than to dip.

You find something to take your mind off the craving. Weather that be going to chat with someone here useing seeds or gum, even fake snuff if needed.

Have a plan get members numbers, if it gets really bad call someone we've all been there so welcome and congrats.

By the way if you'd like my number just PM me and it's yours.

When does it get easy
« on: May 04, 2008, 10:17:00 PM »
Hi I'm new, chewed for 22 years Quit for a 100 days. Went cold turkey for first 2 weeks and could hardly stand it. Went to the DR. got on Chantix and it reduced cravings by 50%. Still not easy by any means but now I'm off it and have very few cravings. Hope I make it.
