Hey guys...I've been poking around this site and posting roll for the past few days but haven't given ya'll a true introduction yet. I'm a 20 year old student at WVU (if you can't already tell by my obnoxious screenname/picture/signature) and I am an addict. Been a slave to it since my sophomore year of high school when my ever so caring baseball coach graced me with a can of dip. Whattaguy. Anyways, there is no one to blame for the past 4 years since that day but the nic bitch and myself...and I'm ready to slap that whore out of my life. My advice for the guys who just started? When you get that craving, or that pounding headache, come on KTC and just poke around and read anything....everything...while you're in that fog. I'm 5 days in and just starting to be able to look at lights without feeling like I got sucker punched. You guys have been great, very helpful, and I look forward to continuing my quit with you men.

I'm just finishing up day 2 and man it's not easy.  I can honestly say that without this site's support I most definitely would have caved about an hour ago.  One thing I have to admit though is that I think I may have set the world record for most sunflower seeds/beef jerky chew ever eaten in one evening.  I'm living off of this stuff right now.  For those of you that don't like seeds or are just trying to change it up a bit...the jerky chew is great.  First off, they sell it at almost any convenience store, it's cheap, and it tastes pretty damn good too.  I have the teriyaki kind right now.  Just an alternative because I know I've never seen the other tobacco-free alternatives posted on this site at any store near me.  Happy quitting!
I don't know man. I burned through a lot of seeds my first week. It was crazy. I would also suggest some sugar-free gum. I still have a piece every now and then.
Hang in there my dude, mountain. Things will get worse before they get better, but that's the price we pay for ingesting those toxins year after year. Remember that it never gets that bad that a dip from the devil herself is warranted. Also, remember the tremendous amount of accountability that's assumed when you post roll.

Hang in there my friend. Do ANYTHING but dip. Fake dip is acceptable. I ordered myself some. Personally I'm sick of fuckin raw cheeks from sunflower seeds.

Should you ever hit a rut remember that my offer for a number is only a PM away.
What kind of fake dip did you get chewcrew? hooch? jakes mint? bacc off

I'm always curious about the fake dips, very happy with my mint snuff, but i want to try other kinds
Kurt, I just ordered on Friday. Got a sampler of both Hooch and Smokey Mtn comin. I have no experience with any alternatives at all. I was the epitome of cold turkey.

However, I will be driving 11 hours for spring break so I want to have something with me in case that old particular feeling comes across too strongly. If not, I've got many friends who I'm trying to get off of the nicbitch as well, and it'd be a good tool for them.
Let me know how that goes, chew

Welcome to KTC, Mountaineers! This will mark what is the hardest decision you've made in your life, but some time in the very near future you will realize that it was simultaneously the best choice you've made. Here's what you're gunna want to do:

On the top left of the page, you will see a salmon-colored Welcome Center link. You need to click that and take a peek around. This will show you the ropes of KTC and what it's all about. Here, you will learn what KTC does, how it works, why we do what we do, and WHY it works. Take a looksie, read a bunch, and digest it.

After that, head on over to the June 2012 quit group. Here is where you will use the directions in the Welcome Center to post roll. This is your promise to the people of that group that you will NOT use any and all things nicotine for that day. This is the premise of KTC. Post roll everyday in the morning, don't use, and then repeat the next day.

So that's it. Take a look around, read up, and post your Day (1 or whatever you're at). You are now being held accountable by everyone in the June group at this point.

Some pointers for success? Come up with a quit plan. What will you do in the event that you feel a crave to pack a nice fatty? Next, read, read, and read some more. There are stories here, HOF speeches, Words of Wisdom, tons of stuff here. The more you read, the stronger your quit will become. Also, visit the KTC Live Chat room. You will need to re-register to become active here, but there's usually always a few quit brothers in there that are willing to chat with you. Perhaps the most important, is to create relationships with your quit brothers. Exchange numbers with them so you have further accountability, or if you run into a craving they can talk you out of it.

That's basically the gist of it. Sorry to be so long, but I'm a little amped up and I feel this will be super useful to you. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate one bit to PM me and I will get back to you ASAP! I quit with you today brother.
