helps keep you hydrated, helps cleanse the system, want to help any way you can to get the nicotine and cotinine (what nic breaksdown in your system to). cotinine can stay in your system for up to 3 wks from last use. the faster you get everything out of your system the better off you are from the physical craves. the psychological craves is a different story. and in general the better hydrated you are the less craves for anything, be it dip or feeling hungry.

It prevents constipation. Tobacco is a natural laxative. Drink the water.

Hey yall.  I guess we are all in the same boat.  I am on day 5.  I am a can a day copenhagen dipper.  If I was not eating or sleeping, I was dipping-sometimes I would fall asleep with it in my mouth!  Before Saturday, I cant remember the last time I went an entire day without.  I do have a couple of questions:
1-  How long does it take for your mind to stop telling you-DIP-DIP-DIP-DIP? and that being the predominate thing on your mind?
2- Are there any good aides to help quit?  Even perscription drugs?
Thanks and I really am pulling for everybody!
welcome to the site CU. I'm with 11X4 on the quit aids or meds, your 5 days out so the physical should be about over.

Hang in there

congrats on the quit dip start! make a plan to fight the craves though you are probably through the worst of it. i drink plenty of water, chew gum and every now and then use some fake dip. i'm on day 24 and the real craves are getting less frequent and less intense when they do hit. you are well on your way, just take it one day at a time.

Day 603
Reading what 40 has suggested is a great way to start! There is also some great and (unfortunately _ ) real things that you should be prepared for on this What to Expect page of Killthecan.org.

Welcome to the dark side. You have found some of the best quit supporters you will ever know. And i would be remiss if I didn't point out that you said "I am a can a day copenhagen dipper." Not exactly the best choice of words. "I was" or "I am a former". Phrases like that will reinforce your quit!
I've always wanted to save a life, so I started with mine.
