Right you are...I am an addict, and always will be. It's a habit in that I did it w/o thinking. Seriously, woke up, put a dip in, got in the truck, same thing...before I knew it, half a can was gone. But now, I won't let that stuff get the best of me, I can make it through the day w/o it, and I will be successful.

Bill,

First, congrats on your decision to take control back! However...

I think your awareness is a little off. Dipping is NOT a habit. Putting your shoes on left first, right second is a habit. You could easily change that habit and reverse the order couldn't you? Right first, left second? No mental anguish, no rage, no sweats...

What you have is an ADDICTION! You dip to get your FIX, and to relieve the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal that dip created in the first place.

Admit that you are an addict to a drug, albeit a legal one. It is liberating, and helps you to get your mind straight. You have to identify the enemy to fight it! OUR enemy is ADDICTION. Dipping is just the delivery system, fight the addiction!

Glad you're here. Glad you're quit. I quit with you today, too.

Let me know If I can help.

Bill - I've been down this road, and I know how hard it is to come back. But there's nothing here to suggest that you've begun to really think hard about what needs to be different this time. I think you have some real soul searching ahead of you. Caving doesn't just happen...it's something you do, and it usually takes a lot more planning that you may willing to admit. Give it some real thought and figure how you can strengthen your quit this time around...eliminate all the outs that you might be leaving yourself. PM me if I can be of any help. Welcome back, brother. Let's get it done right this time.
Quit Date - 3/15/11

bill, is this your same handle? if so, there's no way you should only have 63 posts to date. the more involved you are with the folks in your quit group and on the site in general, the less likely you are to put death dirt in your mouth. post a ton, read even more, and give/receive phone numbers so that we can reach out and touch you if necessary.

Hello Everyone. First off, I need to come clean. I joined the site three years ago, my first attempt to quit. I was doing well, I forget exactly how many days I stayed quit, but I switched jobs, moved away for a couple months, and before I knew it, I was back in the habbit. I'm not gona make excuses for what happened. In a moment of temptation, I was weak. I've been through a lot the last couple years, and I'm thankful for where I am, and what I have in my life. The folks in my quit group were pretty blunt w*bigbill yesterday, and that's OK. It really gave me alot to think about and reflect on. I know that with the support from the folks here, I can do this.
Bill,

Let's make this one stick. I don't know shit about your last attempt, but let's make THIS quit your LAST quit.

How are you going to do that Bill? I suggest you get engaged. Post, read, read, post, read, read, read and read some more. Get to know your group. Find someone in your new group you can identify with. Get some numbers. Give your number out.

The truth of the matter is, last time, you weren't ready. Are you ready this time?

I'll help you walk your path if you need it. I'm just a PM away.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

Yep, together we can get through this! We are all here for each other. The road is to rough and rocky to try and take it alone! Glad you're back!

The problem last time was that you didn't have me as a quit brother. Let's slay this bitch together...every day. I am quitting so I can see my little girls grow up and not worry about leaving them all the time. I'm not going anywhere, so you can count on seeing me here every day.
