Welcome to KTC and congrats on quitting. First of all, thank you for your service... You have some bad ass quitters posting up in your intro and if you listen to these guys you will have no problems at all. Like pinched said earlier, the next week or so is going to suck but you can do it. it gets better every single day that you are quit. Keep yourself some sunflower seeds, hard candy, tooth picks, gum, fake chew or anything really as long as it has no nicotine in it and use that stuff when the cravings hit the hardest... I will quit with you any day. Feel free to pm if you need anything at all.

Hey Skeeter, some quick reading here is the welcome center. This will help explain how and why we do things around here. You can find a link at the top left of this page.

Once you are done, make sure you go post roll. That is your promise to yourself and to us that you will not use today. You can do this, it is worth it. You know as well as anyone, freedom isn't free.

Well here I am in Afghanistan and I have decided to quit. I looked up this site on a whim and decided now was the time. I spit out my last dip while reading some posts and honestly I already regret it. The reasons I'm quitting is because it's something I know I have to do and the cost is ridiculous. I mean I could buy a quality gun every year with the money I spit away. I have been dipping for 15 years now literally half my life. It has become my life he'll my username is proof of that 1822 is the year Copenhagen was created and I typed it in without thinking as soon as I checked my email I realized what a boneheaded move. So on that note if anyone knows how to change the username that would be great. I have quit on and off I give it up for Lent every year but I usually pick it up shortly after the best I have done was six months and one day I simply saw a can sitting on a desk and I put it in not even thinking it was like I went into autopilot. But this time is for real I'm going to do it I'm going to quit or die trying. The stakes are becoming to high in my life plus I know I can become a better athlete if I quit. The problem is the military has a whole subculture of dipping and it is part of me I literally have people ask me why I don't have a dip in when I don't like they always expect me to have it in at all times. I once had a soldier that had known me for five weeks ask me what was the growth in my mouth and I realized that this kid has never seen me without a dip in I spent close to 18 hours a day near this soldier and he never saw my lip empty. That was when it really hit me that I had a problem. Well I have talked long enough I can't wait to hear from some of you guys I really think I'm going to enjoy the support as they say misery loves company.

Well soldier you are in the right place. Sit Down, Buckle In, and suck it up for a bit because the next week or two are going to suck for you. You need to find a replacement right away, drink lots of water, then drink more.

If I can do this shit you can do this shit. As a retired soldier myself I certainly understand how tough I am and this quit was no walk in the park for me. Every second of every day something will cause you to reconsider your quit. When that happens you got to tough through it.

I am here if you ever need to talk or want someone who's quit is fresh enough that they remember the suck to help you. Hell we could even share some Afghanistan stories as well.

Hang in there brother and don't let some little drug run your life. You are fighting for our freedom so I know you are tough enough to quit this shit.

I'm sure soldiers are strong and can do what they set out to do. Addicts will lie, cheat, steal to get their fix. I can read between the lines you wrote that you know what I'm talking about. While you are strong and kicking ass as a soldier (thank you), you are also an addict. It won't be easy, but you've come to the right place. leave your weak regrets at the door. We want only the strong here. Weakness eventually finds its way out. We've had many soldiers overeseas follow the program, you can too. Its easy, post roll and keep your word.

Start now!
