Day 6. Today was the worst so far. Felt out of body and felt headaches like never before. I never thought I was truly "addicted" but it was clearly a lie to make myself think it was okay. It was a miserable night and morning. Feeling good now, but poked my lymph nodes so damn hard the other day I have some pain in my jaw. I wouldn't recommend worrying about oral cancer unless you have a sore or something lumpy. My advice to anyone just quitting.... Don't let your mind beat you whether it be telling you to have a dip or that you have cancer.

Here's to another day! I never thought I could hate one legal drug so fucking much.
Good job Gopher. Hate that bitch and I'll hate her right along with you.

My background:

I am 27 and was a dipper for many years. I started just around my 19th birthday and quit last week. I had a canker sore on the bottom of my gums from my retainer (or so I hope) and it scared the crap out of me. I am glad I could find a place like this as I don't normally need a lot of support.

My problem is I do not miss the chewing tobacco, I miss the 8 years of my life that I wasted using tobacco. I look back and think how stupid I was to have ever used it. Does anyone else feel the same way? I am glad I gave it up and will use you all for support. My quit date was 3/14/14.

I look forward to learning from everyone.

Since I quit on Friday night 3/14/14 I am pretty damn excited for tonight to be 3 days.  I am so scared of getting cancer at this point that I just don't see the need to buy another can and to put it in my mouth.  I can't wait to get to 100 days. It will be a highlight of my year.

Thanks to everyone for the support on day one and I will be checking in daily!
I love your enthusiasm bro. Lets harness it a tad.
1, 10, 36, 100, 1044 days... It's all the same. One day at a time. It's a long road brother. Pace yourself and, right now at the beginning, celebrate a victory each day. 100 will come soon enough. Enjoy now.
I remember early in my quit I saw a post from Ready that he was quit for like 1700 something days. He said it had been years since he had a crave. As a really new quitter in got all excited at the prospect of that being a possibility. Then srans gently reminded me that Ready got to 1700 something days the same way I got to 20 days, ONE DAY AT A TIME! I feel like a completely different man than 115 days ago. But I know I am just one bad decision away from the last 4 months meaning nothing but bluster and shit. NAFAR!

First three days are hard, mainly because it takes that long to end the physical addiction. But, make no mistake day 4 is hard too. So, one day at a time and post roll every damn day. Support is here and were all going thru it.

Great decision! Wish I would have done the same back when I was 19. Post roll everyday and stay quit.
