New to the site, so forgive me if I’m doing this wrong. Hoping someone can relieve me of some of the stress I’m going thru. Quit dipping on Nov 9th, 2019 cold turkey. It seemed like over night I had a itchy feeling at the back of my throat, also a sore throat, tongue feels funny, a tugging sensation to my right ear. None of these symptoms before quitting. Had a physical done 2 days later. Bloodwork is good, ultrasound of jaw, neck and throat are clear. Is this normal, and if so how long does this last?
Welcome
@Tcisneros ,
First off, Total Bad Ass going 12 days nicotine free on your own.
The symptoms you are experiencing are normal when quitting dip. This is part of what we call "The Suck" and usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks depending on the person. You've already been to the doc, so you know nothing is wrong with you, you just have to endure and stay strong.
Here we quit one day at a time, we post our promise to abstain from nicotine 24 hours at a time. This is done in monthly quit groups. Your quit group would be the
February 2020 Pre-HOF Quit Group. You can click that link and it will take you to it.
February is when everyone in that group will reach 100 days quit. We celebrate the entire month welcoming each member of the month on to the Hall Of Fame (HOF) Train.
This site is built on Accountability and Brotherhood. Being held accountable to make and keep your promise everyday and holding others accountable to so the same. The brotherhood comes with the interaction between you and your group mates and veterans of the site.
The process is very simple:
1. Wake Up
2. Piss
3. Post your promise for the day
4. Keep your word
5. Repeat Daily
Posting your promise each day is the price of admission to this forum. I will see you in February.
