After reading some of the comments on this board, I feel like a weakling. I’ve attempted to quit several times, none have been successful and the longest one period lasted was about 30 days. One bit of bad news and I crumbled. Back to square one. It’s easier to push through the suck some days, and others seem to last forever.
That 30 day period was almost 3 years ago now. I kept telling myself, okay, todays the day, but that day went on for about 3 or 4 hours, and then I’d find myself at the convenient store getting another tin.
One thing I remember, is the first few days were the worst, and after about 7 days it was just like living in a funk. I wasn’t really driven, I felt little joy, and it seemed like every day was the same. I wanted to quit several times, but after 30 days and just a blah existence didn’t have me too excited.
After reading the amount of time it takes to get back to “normal” and everyone that has 100 days plus saying it gets better, I am ready to start again.
I’m on day 3 now, no more tins of Snus, but the day started out with the cold sweats, headache, lack of concentration and rage at every little thing. So I dug out some nicotine gum that expired back in 2018 and chewed on some of that. I know this is frowned upon and I don’t feel good about it. But I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t plan on using the nic gum as a crutch for long, but for today it helped. I don’t even know if it really worked or was just a placebo.
We will see what tomorrow brings.
I want to be healthy and I want to do more with my life. I don’t want to be pinned down by a need for nicotine.

I have some news for you. You aren’t on day 3. The nic gym started you over. Throw it away. Flush it down the toilet.
Go to the August quit group and post your day 1. Here’s a link: https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16445.0
Make your promise to not use nicotine in any form. Keep your promise. It’s that simple.
Exchange digits with guys in your group, and a few vets too. Mine are a PM away.

@Apsjeep (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=17540) welcome to KTC. We wake up, piss, and post our promise for the stay to stay nicotine free for the day. Keep your promise and repeat the following day. Only worry about today. We will deal with tomorrow when it comes. Make relationships with fellow quitters and exchanging digits only through personal messages is encouraged. Those relationships will pay huge dividends. You can do this and we are here to help. Reach out if I can be of assistance.

@Apsjeep (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=17540) why don’t I see you on roll today? Hope you are not packing crap in your lip. If so, throw it out and get back to posting. It is much easier if you lean on others to help. Reach out!!!

Thanks for the messages and "tags" everyone. I messed up this weekend, and have to restart. Day 1 today. Thanks again for the support.

Not sensing any sort of remorse here. Are you upset at all that while we were here grinding it out one day at a time, giving and honoring our promises, you were stuffing poison dirt in your face? All those messages and tags were from people who cared about you and your quit stoppage. And you come back and leave this steaming pile?
This is an ACCOUNTABILITY resource. Get on here, make your daily promise early each and every day and honor your word. The messages and tags were people attempting to hold you accountable. Share your digits with other members and create relationships. When you are struggling, we can then provide a lifeline. But you need to be dedicated, involved and understand that caving, under any circumstances, it NOT an option.
If you haven't already, get your ass into August 2020 group and post the answers to the 3 questions:
1.) What happened?
2.) Why did it happen?
3.) What are you going to do differently?
These questions are for you to dig deep and help ensure you don't find yourself in this place again. Put some effort and thought into them. And you might want to also ask yourself who you are quitting for and why you decided to sign up and quit. Cause based on what I've seen so far, I could probably provide answers to those last two questions for you but we can compare answers later.

Hope you're not expecting a participation trophy.

I don't need a trophy. I want to stay nicotine free. I was early on in my quit, and stumbled. I'm back, and appreciate everyone encouraging my ownership of my quit. Thank you.

I don't see an answer to the 3 questions. Those are a requirement for everyone who caves and comes back. Reference my post above and get those answered in Aug 2020.
You say you "want to stay nicotine free". The road to hell is paved with good intentions. What ACTIONS are you taking to ENSURE you remain nicotine free today?? You posted roll. That is the first step. How many people have you swapped digits with? Have you been active on the forum sharing your victories and your struggles, encouraging your fellow quitters and building relationships??
If it were the case that ifs and buts were candy and nuts, then we'd all have a jolly Christmas. We don't "try" here. We honor our words through thick and thin and never make excuses. Be a man of your word. Be a man of action.

Life if going to happen. Are you going to cave every time life gets hard? You need to decide what is your priority. You will never regret quitting but you will always regret caving. As MX said, you need to answer the 3 questions in your group.
-
Is this some kind of joke? You ARE a weakling. Any asshole can stop for a month, but only a real man can quit one day at time.
Look.in the mirror bro. Are you a man or are you a mouse? If you're a man, stay and quit. If you're a mouse go take your nicotine chese and scoot back into the hole in the wall and keep feeling sorry for yourself.
You're either in our you're out. You're a 1 or a 0. You can't jump in the pool and get a little bit wet. Up to you bud. Everything you need is right here. I was a pussy when I quit 8 years ago, but I wanted it so I did it. You can too.

You've got to want this shit like your life depends on it, because it does. You still have some questions to answer in your group for the weekend you decided to take off from quitting while enjoying some nic dick. The questions aren't going away.

@Bug Guy (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1866) addict isn’t ready to quit - he just likes the sound of it.

Make yourself in love with the idea. Who would say no to freedom, life, money, and self-respect starting immediately? Say it until you're blue in face: I hate dip and I love being quit. There is NO reason to use that shit ever.
