Thanks for all the encouraging, and humorous posts.

I've stopped many times before and the weening off with snus to a herbal or sugarfree gum was the least sucky.

Now to figure out where on this forum to check in regularly.

Luna, note my join date versus my quit date. I weened by using a patch, and was not allowed to post in threads or roll. Guess what? Once I found my missing balls and took the patch off for good 48 days ago, the first week still SUCKED ASS. I gained nothing from weening. Listen to the bad ass quitters here, flush the shit and buckle in for a rough week. And then be free......
To add to this, the suck is going to suck whether you use "a little" or "a lot" prior to actually quitting. (To be clear, I am talking about any form of nicotine, not just tobacco).

You can wean down to 1 dip a day and the suck will still suck. It will wreck your shit worse than a fatapotomaus (new quitters - look that one up here in the intro's and get at me when you find it).

You dont need to wean yourself, you need to quit. Now. How do you know for sure your next "weaning" dip is not the one that gives you cancer?

Take that whole stash of bullshit, flush it down the toilet, and post day 1. You will NEVER regret it.

The problem is not the problem.  The problem is your attitude about the problem.  Do you understand?

You are addicted to nicotine. You cannot be quit if you are using nicotine. The delivery system does not matter... You have never been quit. At best you had a stoppage, but not if you were using nicotine gum the whole time. You have to want to be quit. I dipped for 20+ years and had tapered down from 2 tins a day with the patch once; it sucked way worse than cold turket, and it didn't last. KTC works. If you are serious read everything on this site and get an education about nicotine addiction/ PM me if you need anything, but do NOT post roll until you are done using nicotine.

First things first, Luna thank you for your service. From one vet to another, you made a lot of sacrifices for all of us. With that being said. Are you out of your fucking mind?

You spoke of deploying, you can't tell me or anyone else that you didn't have the pucker factor X 1000 when you were headed over the big pond. You manned up and did what you had to do, correct? Guess what? time to man up again. You received some excellent advice from some serious bad ass quitters here. I suggest you read over all the posts again, get your head out of your ass and quit. I tried the procrastinating pussy bullshit for 2 weeks prior to joining KTC. I was putting patches on, taking them off, putting shit in my lip- whooooeee you talk about getting high. I thought I was ODing on nicotine.

The bottom line is, you can not plan a quit. You grab you fuckin sack, you do have one right? You get as pissed off as you possibly need to, take that can and dump it or you can do like I did and take it out and shoot it. You get it in your head that the nicotine is the most hated thing you've ever had to deal with and post roll. If you don't heed this advice and come back on here and still talk the planned quit bullshit, your credibility here will be shit! Good luck it's your call.

Military??? Must have been Air force..... Most military personnel have enough intestinal fortitude to man up and kick ass.
THAT ^^ is hilarious in an otherwise disgusting intro.

Do what you want bro, but don't show your ass here until you are 100% nic free. That's how we roll. Period.

Yikes. I am weening myself off. I can wait a week to post cold turkey..

Last time, I did the long cut, to pouches, to suns, to gum and it worked for just over a year.
I have seen a lot in my almost 2 years here, and let me tell you a secret.....

planned quits are not the way to go and frequently fail.......

why you may say.....well have seen where the 'tomorrow' never comes and we never see the person again.....or 'well the times got too tough and I failed after a week (because that part was not planned)'......

the best way to quit that I have seen, is to dump it now, make that FINAL DECISION just out of the blue, and then make that PROMISE not to use on a daily basis each and every day.

then you may make your plan on how to keep it, drink water in excess, seeds, trident gum, sugarfree candy, toothpicks or whatever without the poison.

those who have done that along with making the connections with the Brotherhood here, have then been the successful ones.

think about it

There are thousands of people who come here in your exact situation, except for one huge difference - they know they need to quit, at all costs. You came here because you obviously need help. Stop quivering at the thought of giving up your precious poison and take the outstretched hand being placed in front of you.

Is this going to suck? Absolutely. Those horrible feelings you described, that is your body detoxing. This is going to happen for (typically) 3-5 days no matter when you stop.

This is how we quit here, cold turkey, balls to the wall. Do you want to be a quitter? Or do you want to keep being a slave to the can?

Simply put - DO YOU WANT TO DIE? Didn't think so. Quit being a pussy, dump your stash, and join us.
We see guys like you come in here every week. Afraid to actually quit instead armed with some extravagant plan to "taper" down. The only ones who succeed are the ones who listen to the advice given above. The rest fade away and are presumed to be shoving cancer causing dog shit into their lips.

Grab your nut sack and jump in. Be a quitter. Not a taperer or a stopper.
It worked last time??? Think about it while you're suckling with the poison.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.
