grizzdipper... I hope I have helped you in your quit. I need you to do the favor and post as early in the day as possible.

Littledipper18 (tongue in my cheek because I know you aren't little). One thing that many here may not recognize is the 5 hr time zone difference. I honestly believe that you realize the importance of early posting. There is a lot of strong feelings about posting and rightly so. Early on in my quit I found that I was always still up when the group started posting for the next day. ( I still am) I had the delima do I post at 11:00 pm for the next day or should I wait till I wake the next day and post. I usually post at night for several reasons: late Night you don't get bumped as bad, I consider my post to be two things, I report on my previous days promise telling everyone I was faithful and most important I'm making a oath and promise to myself and everyone that reads it that I will not use nicotine that day! If I post later in the day I've let my guard down and left myself open for thoughts of ( I have no promise). Later in the day is also to me a way of saying look guys I don't need you I have stayed quit without a promise. For me I decided very early on to post before midnight for the next day wasn't a problem. When I do that I know that I am covered by my promise for the full 24 hours of the day. Some may take issue with me on this but for me it works! I know we have acouple of quitters from opposite sides of the Earth and when they post has got to fit their life. You continue to quit, post as early as possible and be as active as possible. If not you will hear from me and you know that already!

This has to be the most important thing in your life right now.

Not always, just now.

If not, you will fail.

Yep, that's how hard this is at first.

Your choice.

Look back at all those broken promises you came in here with.

Have you lived up to your promises?

It's easy to say you have a quit plan. It's badass when you live it.

You can do this. Don't let me down.

This post is fucking badass helms.

Bryan,

Today is Day 3... Soon enough the nicotine with have left your body. But now begins the rewiring of your brain. You have wired your brain to think and act certain ways in response to nicotine. Now you have to reteach your brain. Continue to drink water and get plenty of exercise. Most of all continue to read on the website and always reach out to your quit brothers and sisters for help.

Yes, great job and great advice from others. Your cranium is rewiring itself. Soon enough you will enjoy a new normal. You will restore the real you.

Suffer through the bad part. Know this, in time, you will not regret the quit you chose. Well done friend.

Solid support here grizz. Listen to these folks. The only thing I would add is the more you talk about or write about the more you will see what's happening to you. The more you can understand and the better you can attack the problem. You can do this. I am certain.
Grizz your on the path. The fog will lift soon. What soul said about talking and writing about your experience is so true

sleepless night but i feel accomplished because i didnt give in to the bitch. i never dug through any trashcans trying to find some long forgotten can. withdrawl is still in full force but im getting used to it and i know that i could never handle this feeling again. a good reason to stay quit. ive been irratable to those around me since i fluhed the shit so im trying to isolate myself as much as possible until the withdrawl symptoms start to wear off a bit. hoping all you guys are holding up well and thank you to everyone for welcoming me back with open arms. youve made this kid very grateful and helped bring back his drive.

Grizz,
What you are feeling is normal. Your body is craving for a fix and is punishing you for not giving it! The good part is only have to endure all this one time, if you just stay clean you never have to live through this shit again.

I had very bad days early on, in fact there were days I did not get anything done other than staying quit and you know what, that was enough. I stared sometimes at my computer and could not form a clear thought other than to stay quit, and that was enough.

If you can only accomplish one thing then make that staying quit. Nothing you will do today is more important. This will pass and you WILL start feeling better I promise.

I suggest drinking plenty of water, gatorade, fruit juices. Continue to eat small meals through the day and keep your sugar levels even. Stay close to the site and read everything you can here. Get some fake, seeds, gum, candy, straws whatever else you need. Buckle in and get through this...

STAY QUIT
Greg

feel like im loosing my mind. my head feels like its in a vicegrip and i cant focus on anything. i was slow at work and im just trying to stay sane. i know its supposed to be tough right now but damn. i threw in a dip of smokey mountain herbal snuff ( fake chew) to try to keep my mind of it. its helping a little but i cant get rid of this fucking head pain. i hope everyone else is doing better. was also wondering if anyone had some more tips on how to imbrace this fog im in. this post probably sounds crazy but i just cant form a strait thought
Doesn't sound crazy at all, just went through those days myself. You will get through it. Best advice I can give you is either stay busy or go to sleep. If you're busy enough, doesn't matter how productive it is, your mind will stray from obsessing. If you're sleeping, the headache should subside. I had a helluva time getting through the fog, just think how fucked up nic makes your brain. Now, think about how great men like Einstein were only estimated to have used 3% of his brain capacity. Stick the thoughts of her in the far reaches of your brain and work on something constructive.
