Hey man welcome! You're intro hits close to home for me as well. I did almost the same thing as you. I cut out dip, alcohol and energy drinks at the same time. I still have 1 cup of coffee in the morning, but that's it. Sleep was awful for a few weeks, but i'm in a better place now and sleeping great.
For me, quitting alcohol was never permanent. However, i needed it out because lowered inhibitions means caving for me. I had 2 beers at a neighborhood party around day 20. It was nice, but i also put myself in a situation not to fail. Included my wife; no access to dip, etc. I would be very cautious if and when you go back to drinking. Make sure you are strong in your quit before diving back in.
