Holy shit! 4 days till Mn's League starts!
I better get my gear together. Fresh linens, shower sandals, check!

This will be my first skate in a lot of years where I dont have a pre and post game chew.

I am quit, I will not cave. I quit so I dont get cancer and so I can be a good dad to my kids! And to play hockey!

Damn! I had a dream last night that some random old fella gave me a dip of Copenhagen Snuff. Now this is a brand I havent chewed for 10 years or so, because I switched to Wintergreen.

Anyways, I could feel and taste it. This was very weird for me, and actually had me feeling that I had cheated on quitting!

Day 27 for me, Quit one day at a time.

8 more days until hockey starts

You are in the correct place to quit, so stay close and stay focused!

The nic bitch likes to sneak up on you so do whatever you can to avoid booze for quite a while, not saying you cant have one or two later down the road but right now would really jeopardize your quit!

I would say you have what it takes to be a badass quiter and I look forward to watching you thru your journey, so keep your promise daily and grow your resolve  determination in to the quit you want it to be!

PM me if you need any help brother!

Diet and excersie start Monday. Hockey in two weeks!

Ugh, I have tacked on 8 lbs since I quit chew 20 days ago. Stress eating I guess.

Still worth it. Stay quit today

Thanks a bunch for the support and replies.

Our meeting was succesful last night!

I honestly can say I only had one craving during the 2.5 hour meeting, which I was surprised at.

Anyways, we will be nabbing approximately $3000 in sponsorship money for our 55 skates this season. Ice time costs a hell of a lot these days, and god forbid the prices go down...they keep going up like everything else.

1st skate will be the first Saturday in October! I cant wait!!

Hang tough BP, just maybe through your strength and story some of the other hockeyheads will come to their senses and give up the nic as well. But in the mean time honor your promise to yourself and us to stay quit today every single day. My last snus was 32 days ago and used to control my life. I would go well out of my way to get my fix, and aside from eating and sleeping I had one or two in my lip constantly. Eventually even that wasn't enough and I would pop in a stronger spit tobacco and swallow that crap too. My wife and kids despised it. I hated it too and wanted to quit so bad I would lie to myself daily that this would be my last can. It was the addiction and fear of the withdrawls that wouldn't let me give it up, the lie of the nicotine addiction in my head.

Now I'm a man of my word and though I have made it through a month by promising to stay quit every day, I realize that just one chew, smoke, or snus and i would be back where I started and there is no way in hell I ever want to go through that again. If anyone gives you shit about it, remind them of who is control of their life, and how your quit made you in control of yours. Come up with a plan to maintain control for tonight, honor your word, and check in tomorrow so we can hear how it went. You can do this. Proud to be quit with you today Billy!
Quit 8/14/12 and taking my life back one day at a time.

If you don?t control what you have access to, what you have access to will control you.

I?m trying to remind myself daily it?s not the absence of conflict that determines whether or not my relationships are healthy. It?s knowing how to handle the conflicts that will arise.

Character is who we are, not who we pretend to be. It's better to be shaped than to be fake.

Suggestion?
Where would a thread like this belong? I am trying to inspire and build on this through my "Quit Chew Journey". Lots of current and former dippers play in multiple levels of hockey.
Here is an example of what I have to say today:
___________________________________________________________

Day 12...no snus

My Hockey crew will not jepordize me quitting my addiction. Some people have told me "Billy, you have to get away right after your games". I couldnt disagree more. I have played way to long with them not to hang out for a couple cold ones after our games.

I quit chewing so I don't get cancer, so I can play hockey until my body says "no more, hang up the skates, buddy".

First hockey meeting tonight at our main sponsor's establishment which is a bar and grill. Familiar scenery, and I will not use tonight. Business as usual. Create 2012-2013 Men's League Roster, go over other sponsers, go over schedule.

I am on Day 12

Just keep replying to your same thread. This way It'll all be in one place..
If you can keep your quit promise it doesn't matter where you are. Lions den what have you. post first thing every morning. Then just keep your word. pm me if you need anything.

Be strong Hoss.. quit for yourself, and yourself only. The others will just benefit from the better you. Believe me you will change. I have.. I was just thinking I'm at 40 days and it's gone by quick. Post everyday - repeat

BP -

Congrats on a GREAT choice. Also, 10 days is a great start. I'm glad to see you figured out how to post roll...that is the key.

When the hockey game is over, you might want to think of a routine so you keep your resolve. Ex - check out KTC on your smart phone immediately when you get back to your locker. Read a few posts, tell us the score or how many teeth got kncked out or something.

Then tell yourself something like, "I GET to play hockey because I chose to quit. If I don't quit, I WILL get cancer. I choose to play hockey over getting cancer." Say it out loud if you have to. I used to go out to my truck and say something like that out loud but into my hat so others wouldn't see.

10 days, huh?!! Like I said, that is a great start. But that is all it will be if you don't post roll and figure out a way to resist triggers like post-hockey happy hour.

Stay strong, brother!!!
I really like the routine idea. In fact, I just put KTC on the front page of my iPhone so I can try to do just that:

Post after games instead of throwin' a dip in. Ha!

I will stay strong! For me, and my family
