sorry guys. weekends are my time to relax after a week of driving garbage truck for the city and dealing with average joe idiot. i get so pissed off at times i fantisise about smashing things with my hands or my trucks arm. then i calm down and think like a man and not an ape.
I call it day 1.5 because i bummed a dip from a coworker yeasterday. i bought 2 cans of smokey mountain. been doing good so far.
my hobbies are working on cars. the old stuff without computers that control everything.
my son and I built a vw bug that's titled as a 72, the body maybe 72 but the rest,,,, who knows.  now he has a 84 jetta with a 88 gti motor and tranny. it was hit in the left front corner and pushed into the curb.

be patient guys, I will learn how to post correctly.
Posting correctly is not a worry. We have a LOT of patience for that. Until you've been here a moth or so, no one will really give a damn how you post...as long as you post. Someone will fix your post. Just so you know, we post every day. We have VERY little patience in this area. You can relax AFTER you post roll. In my 593 days here, I've only seen about 3 good reasons for not posting roll. It is highly doubtful that you will EVER have a good reason for not posting roll, and not posting roll early. And it's highly doubtful that posting roll will ever take more than 2-3 minutes (even thought you should spend more time being active, especially at first). If you aren't sure how, or you think you can't, just ask. There are ways to get it done, even without a computer.

Last week you spent a shit load of time ensuring you always had dip, always had a spitter, always had a good excuse to slip away to dip, always worked enough for the dough to buy dip, etc. If you always found time to feed your addiction, surely you can spend 2-3 minutes a day to starve your addiction ( and support your brothers/sisters).

PS. I'm the average joe idiot.

I dont know anything about trannys. I just know I dont want to run into one in a dark alley.

I do know something about quitting. Let's keep it simple bug, KEEP THE POISON OUT OF YOU PIE HOLE. There will always be some asshole willing to bum you a dip. Post a promise each morning, or you dont stand a chance. There is an army of quitters willing to help you. But you have to want it. At this point I am not convinced. Quit screwing around bug, this shit is life or death, DONT WASTE OUR TIME.

Hey bug, If you can choose this: http://www.outdoortexan.com/mycancer.htm

for yourself, you do it. None of us can stop you. Just read those few paragraphs and take a good, long look at those pictures and then tell yourself out loud that you can choose that over your health.

Then, read this

index.php?show...0#entry22177898

and tell yourself out loud that you can choose that path. I am pulling for you man.

Hey Bug. Glad to see you decided to post roll and come back to your introduction page...we were thinking you had decided to continue sleeping with the nic bitch. Now expect some shit about bumming the dip yesterday from your co-worker. That is not how things work around here. Once you decide to throw the shit in the toilet where it rightfully belongs, you will be a Day 1 quitter. You quit yesterday after getting rid of that shit, so today you are a Day 2 quitter. I noted you posted a Day 1.5 in December. I changed that to a Day 2. Now get on the site and read, read, and read. I have sent you a private message in your Inbox (1). Open it up. It is my telephone number, so call me the next time BEFORE you decide to bum a dip. As of today, you no longer have permission to use nicotine! If you think you need nicotine, you must call me and get permission. Agreed?

Hey man, just read your intro. Sounds just like me. I joined the army in 90 - I think they freaking issue dip to you when you join.

I dipped Copenhagen for 15+ years. I went back and forth between Skoal and smoking previously to that.

I also experienced the fog when I decided to quit. A total waste of space I was for 25 days. Then, as my quit got stronger, my anxiety got worse. Nice.

So, enough about me and lets agree on this: You and I are very much alike. Now, listen to the advice from these other bad ass quitters that have already posted - they speak the gospel.

Now, if you agree that we are pretty much alike, and you have listened to even a little bit of what these guys are telling you, then TRUST us on this:

I don't care how foggy, or anxiety ridden I was - when I posted roll and knew that I had a freaking cavalry behind me supporting me, it was easier to stay quit. When you give your promise, I think there is a small sliver of sanity that penetrates the crippling grip of a crave. There is a small bit of sanity that comes with posting roll. Use that sliver.

You are right in the middle of the worst part. But, I can promise you every single day gets easier.

So - listen up and trust all of us on this. You can do it. We got your back. All you have to do is, well really pretty simple. Give us your word. Let us know that we are supporting someone who is putting in the work. Now that you promise you wont use, then look for that small sliver of sanity in your mind. Grab it and beat the shit out of that nic bitche's crave. Beat it down second by second, minute by minute and hour by hour if you have to.

This is a battle. Sometimes that battle lasts seconds, sometimes minutes or hours. I found this site to be THE way I was able to post 100 days. Don't know if I would have done it without the support of my total stranger friends on this site.

Welcome. I'm right here with you man. You got this.
^^^listen to this dude. Go read his intro. Read about the fog, the anxiety...

Then know, my words not his, that when I met him and kc guy for drinks this week we all had a great fog free, misery free, anxiety free, nicotine free meeting over too many beers. Life gets a lot better. All of the misery will pass.

Get jayhawks contact info. Get him on your team.

Bug,

First - Congrats on making a great choice! I have two comments about your intro...

"Not a heavy dipper" - ha! I used to make that exact claim too. Only I said I was a "light dipper." I took small dips, cans lasted me longer than my buddies, so I must have been "less" addicted, right? BULLSHIT!!! (I am embarrassed that I ever thought that way now...you will be too).

"enjoyed the taste" - yep...I thought that too. Turns out, I'm like everyone else here...what I liked was the nicotine. Ever hear about Pavlov's dog and the dinner bell...just an association. Think back to the first time you tried dip...did you say, "wow...that is delicious?!!!" Me neither. But the nic kept me coming back, an association developed, my mind got warped over the next 20 years, and I actually THOUGHT I liked the taste, too.

Both of these points illustrate the power of the nic. An addict is capable of lying to anyone and rationalizing anything to get a fix. The first person we fool is ourselves. But enough with the depressing "addict talk." Let's focus on the positives...you and I are here with a shit-ton of other bad-ass quitters!!! We're calling the shots now. I don't know what the future holds...but I sure as shit can promise you one damn thing...I WILL NOT PUT NIC IN MY BODY TODAY. And that something I'm pretty damn pumped about. You should be too!

Congrats, brother!!! One day at a time...
+1 welcome BP, your story sounds alot like mine. I'm a light user, just a couple cans a week, no biggie, I'm not ingesting as much even if I leave it in 24/7, blah blah blah. It meant I just never really had to quit. You can do this, you'll be glad to do this, and this site will help so much more than you ever can think! PM if you need numbers or anything.

You've got some great advice from some great quitters already.

As Srans said, the words "I want to quit" aren't going to help you much. It's time to man up and quit. Get your head around the fact that using nicotine is a choice and that all you have to do is choose freedom over poison.

I know, I know, it's not easy. But it's simple, and you can do it.

Bug, you need to read up about our addiction man. You need to get educated about what the nicotine does to us. Read everything on the site! If you make it past 72 hours the poison is out of your body, and it is all mental from that point on. You can do this, and it sounds like you are ready. Use the resources KTC has to offer. Read and learn then live it!

after 22 yrs i've decided it's time to quit. i'm like a tweeker right now, sneeking money to buy my next can. i'm not a heavy dipper at 2 cans per week, but i'm a chain dipper. from morning til night i have a dip in. sometimes i sleep with it in. when i started back in 1991 i had just joined the army and wanted to fit in. I quickly got to the point that i could eat with it in and not get it mixed in with my food. ( I know I know gross)
I've tried quitting about 8 times, tried the zyban and about commited suicide.
had a scare about 3 months ago when my dentist found discolored skin in my cheek. i;ve since been cleared. started using smokey mountain and let me tell you i'm glad they have a classic flavor because for me it's the flavor. i cannot stand the mint or wintergreen. i can go about a week then the anxiety starts getting the better of me.
I WANT TO QUIT THIS ADDICTION
You can do it! read all you can on this site and stay quit.
I'm 57 years old and dipped for over 30 years and 54 days quit. Was it easy? hell no but worth having a life now vs being a slave and a fool.

I WANT TO QUIT THIS ADDICTION

This is a start, but not going to do you much good. I was the same way,, I wanted to quit so bad it made me sick. I didn't enjoy the poison at all for I don't know how long.

The problem is you don't know that you are able to quit. It's as simple as not putting the poison in your mouth again. It's all up to you. Your deep inside there somewhere. Reach deep and pull out some determination and drive. You can do it, you just have to get pass the lies that you believe. Right now your owned by the poison. Your a slave that thinks it's impossible.

Zam said it right. Read,, start finding out all you can about your addiction. Treat this site like it's the most important book you've ever read, because it is.

At the top left you find the welcome center. Read how we post roll daily and what it means.

Finally, Excuse time is over, weakness is over ,,,,, YOU WANT YOUR LIFE BACK,, YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT. The poison is not just going to give it back.

HoF Speech

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.
