Day 43- Sleeping good and not having crazy dreams anymore! Actually, everything seems to be going very good... a little too good. I'm keeping my guard up so I don't get blindsided though! Still can't seem to cut back on the fake like I want to. Going to get serious about that... I don't want to be putting any of that shit in my mouth anymore!! I have started gaining weight from eating more 'bang head' so hoping to start some kind of exercise plan within the next couple weeks with my wife. We've been talking about it, now I need to make it happen! Looking forward to my Day 50 update! IQWYT!!!

Soooo here I am, Day 32 Nic-Free! I am writing here mostly for myself... I saw someone else say they use their intro as sort of a journal that they can keep a running log of their quit... I liked that idea so I am doing the same. I've not been so active in my quit group mostly due to having to use a cell phone 90% of the time and it is a struggle just to get my roll posted without issue! I do check KTC several times per day just to see what's going on, but I do mostly keep a low profile. No reason, just who I am. As I've said before, this is my 3rd time quitting... although the last 2 were no obviously failures... I plan on making this one work! So much thanks to KTC and SamRS (dude, you gotta let me know your source for the jokes), Wyles and Brisingr for the texts and keeping up with me! I can't begin to tell how much it does help to get that text out of the blue! It brings things back to earth where they can be dealt with easier!
I was having a seriously bad day last week. My wife recently had a mini stroke... she is fine, thank God! But we had to go up to Duke for her to see a specialist there trying to find out what caused it. We were there all day, delay after delay... she couldn't eat due to her procedure and so I didn't eat either thinking we could get something on the way home. Long story short... I was in bad place. That nic bitch was working on me. I only had my fake shit that has been helping so far... but this day, it wasn't doing good. Then... ding! I got a text. Thank you SamRS!! That brought everything back to center for me and got my head back where it should have been. Getting those digits is the magic to having a successful quit!

Things are going pretty good at Day 32. I am going to have problems when I quit this fake shit... but for now, it's only rotting my teeth due to the sugar, and I can live with that for short term. I have been having some VIVID AS HELL DREAMS though! Crazy stuff too... not just run-of-the mill dreams!

If you're just getting here to KTC and are reading this... make sure you read all the info they have on this site! It is a lot of stuff... but all good info for you to take in! Plus, when you post roll for the first time... get those digits from the vets AND from your Quit Group and understand the promise you are making with that roll! It is taken very seriously as you will soon find out!

Day 24 today and I'd say I'm feeling as good as ever! The sleepless nights have passed and now just working on my triggers. Thanks for all those that text me and have helped me get this far!

You got this. One day at a time and it will pass. Being in this group will help since none of them pull any punches. We are all in this together. Day 1 or day 1000, we are all quitters!

Welcome stratomatic. 1,000 day's ago today I was right where you are. Needed anybody and anything to give me guidance. Well I found it, I bought into ktc, I listened to the vets and to people in my group. After all they were going through or already been through what I was about to. So I got numbers and gave my number, yes to complete strangers and one day at a time posting rolling and making friends along the way to keep my addict ass in line it's a wonderful day on ktc for a complete stranger of ktc at day one to now tearing up watching all these strangers sharing there love with me and that's a small part of how ktc works. Please post early every damn day. Dig deep into ktc and you and the family shall reap great rewards! Damn proud to be quitting with you today!
^^^ this guy knows how to quit. One day at a time, following the plan that he outlined, greatness is ahead!

The ol' one won't hurt lie. Most of us have fallen for it. Read up on the Laws of Addiction at the link below. We can never have "one" dip, smoke, vape, cigar, nic gum, again. At first that sounds scary. At some point it won't...it will sound like like heaven.

Yeah, I'm a knucklehead that has finally had enough. I have quit... twice... for nearly a year each time. Once around 1989, the most recent was about 10 years ago. I read some of the stuff on here and was thinking to myself... "yep, that's exactly right... yeah, that's how it was.... oh hell yeah, SPOT ON!" I only wish I had this site and support from members back then, I might have had a chance to still be nic free. But I kept telling myself after 11 months... "just one time, try it. See what it was about it that made you like it... just once won't hurt!" Sadly, here I am now, again trying to quit. I'm too old now to just let it get to me. Too much at stake with my family needing me to be here for another 10 -20 years.

Strato, welcome to KTC. You just made one of the best decisions of your life - freedom awaits you. Make the most of the KTC community. Post roll daily, get active on the board, read everything possible on nicotine addiction, exchange digits. You can do this, no doubt about it. I was hooked on nic for 35+ years and I am now 428 quit. And free.

Pm me if you need anything.

You are now part of the December group -- So am I.

Go find the Group Page -- Pledge NOT to use nicotine today and post your name on the list TODAY. This simple act is the core here -- YOUR pledge that you will not use today. We make that pledge everyday -- one day at a time.

My name and pledge are there today -- I would like to see yours as well. If you are serious then just DO THIS.

Read these pages -- tons of great advice. Best ones for me: Drink lots of water and the advice on alternative nic free products has really helped.

Ball is in your court man -- YOU can do this!
Awesome Job -- YOU Posted Roll!! 'clap'

SO you have promised to yourself and your fellow December Brothers and Sisters that you will NOT use nicotine today. We all made the same promise.

Need to do the same thing tomorrow -- first thing!! Again one step at a time.

Proud of you -- YOU can do this.

Stay Strong!

Day 1 today
« on: September 22, 2017, 03:58:00 PM »
Today I have started the rest of my life as a quitter. I have been dipping for nearly 35 years, have stopped a time or two for nearly a year each time. This time is forever. I appreciate this site and the information and support that is on here... I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get.
