Sitting here having my first bout of insomnia in a very (almost 10 months) long time. I figured it would be a great time to add an entry here.
In 345 days I have found something that is completely new to my 38 years of being alive. I have found a path to freedom from addiction, not forgetful of my addiction, but freedom from its demands.
I’m not one to treat my introduction as a journal, but I think that I should add something once in a while for prospective or new quitters to read; I know that reading stuff in intros helped me to maintain the confidence to finally quit nicotine.
So, go get it done! Be finished with that nasty plant that causes cancer and so much more in the interim. Quit those late night runs for a can, or trying to figure out the next fix. You’ve got this!! Quitting is simple, though challenging at times, it is simple .
Join a group (network of likeminded people), make your promise to stay nic free each day(layer of accountability), burn your anxious/bored/frustrated/angry times on KTC with people who know without judgement what you are going through, and get contacts for people who will lend support in your weakest moments.
You are worth it, be free, happy, and absolutely in control of your trajectory!

Keep doing what you are doing and let the days add up.

You brought me in and showed me the way. And I've never looked back since. But I'm looking back now, and remembering where i came from. You were the first one there for me, and i am thankful. See you on that train brother, gonna be a hell of a party!

Sounds like you and mayfly are battling side by side! Proud of you bud! And I am to say this morning reading both of your stories was exactly what I needed. Motivation, a reminder that I'm not alone in what I'm going through. I am glad to hear you got through it and the things are looking up now!

I’ve let this sit for 80 days. A lot has happened in 80 days, yet one thing has stayed the same. I’m still quit.
I’ve forgotten, most of the first few weeks, other than the suck of quitting. If anything else happened in that first 21 days it was masked by the shit pile that were my detox symptoms.
Mostly I wanted to add something in here to mark making it through the Funk. Holy crap did that suck, and honestly I’m still not sure what to think about it.....
Somewhere in the mid 60s my mind decided it had 2 options, be an angry prick, or be full on depressed. So that’s a good time. During this week or so, I had decided that was just me now, and it wasn’t a “funk”. Weird, and I’m glad it was just the funk. Because I was a real pain in the ass.
To make it through that funk, I stuck to my routines; be involved in KTC and with my quit friends every day, keep running and hitting the gym, very limited if any alcohol, and a promise to stay nic free EDD when I woke up.
Guess what? I woke up on morning around 72, and I felt totally different. No shit, literally overnight. I have felt better, more normal, more motivated, more positive than I have since I can remember.
The funk sucked, but it was the biggest achievement to overcome since my initial quit. So F off nicotine! I’ve got this.

Introduction
« on: December 31, 2018, 08:09:52 PM »
Hello everyone, this is my introduction cx posted from the April 2019 group.
Ive been chewing for 15 years with a 3 year “break” mixed in. It’s crazy to think I gave in after 3 years of being free.
Fell off squarely on my ass this last Spring during some family medical stress. Weird rational to do something very unhealthy to cope with someone else’s health problems.....
Anyways, I was putting down a can a day of Cope WG. I’m tired of it, it’s gross, stressful, and it’s the only thing that has ever had this much control over me.
I went cold turkey 5 days ago, and felt good enough to post something coherent today. So here I am for me, and thanks to everyone else who’s here.
 Happy New Year!
