Mcallaway day 329
I am sure everyone would like to see you back here consistently and quit. Approx. six days ago, after a hiatous for your wedding and honeymoon of two weeks you pop and simply post you are making your last post. No explanation, no follow-up, just posted and left for almost a week. Today you simply show and post roll.

What is it? Are gone, are you here, or you simply going to pop in once and awhile and give us a little status update? An explanation would be greatly appreciated so we know what to expect, how concerned to be when you don't show up and whether or not you can be counted on. Personally, I believe in the commitment we all made when we joined KTC; the price of admission is posting roll everyday. Beyond that, posting roll in other groups, paying forward with newbies, getting involved in your own group, etc. are all matters of choice. I am also not naive enough to think that everyone will continue to do this for the rest of their lives. There are some original members who post in here inconsistently and provide a status update everyone and a while like Samm and Emulator, and although I do not agree with that method I am fine with it because they did not sign up for 400 days, and I simply do not waste my time worrying about them if they don't show up. I don't check postings each day to make sure they did not get bumped when updating the spreadsheet and I do not count on them for support should I find myself struggling.

You however, did commit to 400 days, and you have been inconsistent at best. That is not accountability or honoring your word, and that I do have a problem with. So what is it? Are you gone, are you here or are you treating this like Facebook and giving us a status update once and a while? Simple question and after close to a year, I do not consider it an unreasonable question. Grace us with an answer.
I am posting this in your intro ^^^^^^ because I am not sure you will ever see it on roll call

So our April 2014 brother Mcallaway dropped this turd in our roll this afternoon after getting married a couple of weeks ago:

mcallawayNov 12 2014, 03:17 PM
Mcallaway day 323 today will be my last post congratulations to all of you and stay quit

I know I think it is a mistake and risky business less than a year into being quit. I am also a realist and know everyone's not going to stick around forever. I believe in the power of a daily promise, and I hate to see a brother drop from the roll. Any other thoughts?

You can post roll and quit everyday or you can crawl back into that fucking can of poison and continue the lie to everyone including yourself. Oh yea after a few more decades you will figure out how to eat with a dip in. Just ask a dumb ass like I WAS. I say was because that's no longer me, I quit everyday with my promise to tell the can to fuck off!

A new quitter approached a vet and said, “I want to quit and one day be at your level.”  The vet said, “if you want to be at the same level I am, meet me at the beach tomorrow at 4:00am.”

“The beach?  I want to quit, I don’t want to swim.”

The vet said, “if you want to quit, I’ll meet you at the beach.  4:00am.”

So the rookie got to the beach at 4:00am, ready to quit, wearing his suit.  The vet grabbed his hand, looked him in the eye, and asked, “how bad do you want to quit?”

“Really bad.”

“So walk out into the water.”

The rookie walks out into the cold ocean until he’s waist deep thinking, “This dude’s crazy.  I want to quit, and he has me swimming.  I don’t want to get in shape or be a lifeguard, I want to quit.”  The vet follows the rookie into the water, and as he catches up to the rookie, he tells him to go out further.

Now neck deep, the rookie turns and asks the vet what to do next.  “How bad do you want to quit?”

“I already told you, really fucking bad.”

“So go out a little further.”

As the water rises up over the rookies chin, and as the rookie is again questioning the sanity of the vet, the vet pounces, holding the rookies head under water.  The rookie doesn’t stay under easily, and fighting for his life, punches, kicks, and bites the vet; the vet stays in place and continues holds the rookie under despite the assault.

Just as the rookie was beginning to weaken and lose consciousness, the vet pulls him back up out of the water and into the sweet morning air.  “What the fuck was that?  I ask for help quitting, and THIS is what I get?  Fuck you and your quit.”

The vet, having been through this many times before, said, “I have a question for you:  when you were under water what did you want to do?”

“Breathe.”

“Until you want to quit as badly as you wanted to breathe, you’ll never be successful.  It has to be the single most important thing in your life to the exclusion of all other distractions.  When you can achieve that, you will not only be quit, you will remain quit.”
You can do this man.-

Sure, nicotine takes about 72 hours to leave you body but guess what....your body is use to living on nicotine so it is about to fight you and fight you hard.

I am not trying to scare you or make things sound too hard to do, I just want you to be geared up and prepared.

The next 50-100 days are going to be difficult and you will have many bad days and a few good days. Use those good days to recharge your batteries and prepare for the next round of the fight. Quit one hour at a time, if that's too difficult, quit for one minute at a time.

When you think about it 100 days isn't very long but it can seem like forever when you are in the middle of it. You can do this and I will stand right beside you while you do it.

I need you to be successful so I know that I can stay successful in my quit.
Oh little worm-dirt...you are so scary...F' OFF...!!!

McCallaway - GREAT DECISION!!! The bad news is that your body will "freak out." You have been poisoning your body for so long that it has grown to expect it. You take that away cold turkey and it is going to throw a fit. It is called going through "the fog" or "the suck"...and many other names.

But here's the good news...embrace the Suck!!! Nobody gets free of the Nic Bitch for the asking. You have to earn it. Nobody can do it for you. It doesn't matter who you are, how much money you have, who your daddy knows, etc. It is just you and the Nic Bitch...toe to toe. No excuses, no bullshit. You will either control your addiction, or you won't. There is no grey area.

But click around in the Quit Groups...not just your group, but a few different months and years. Look at all of those names. And just think, every last one of those bad-asses once were right where you are right now. Pretty cool, huh? And, each one of them are here posting roll everyday and living free. REALLY COOL, huh?!!!

So, you shouldn't want the Suck to be easy. Really take note of how shitty you feel. White-knuckle, nervous, no sleep, constipated, figitty, headache...bring it, I say. And promise yourself that you will NEVER go through this again. Turn the tables on the Nic Bitch...embrace the suck. It is the feeling of your recovery.

If you need help, just ask. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
This^^^^^^^post just gave me a hard on! I am on day 242 and this post just gave me goose bumps. I agree with Bean, I am glad that it sucked, I am glad that the pain still pops up in the form of anxiety, I don't want to forget how bad it was! I never want a day one again,,,,,,ever!!! Each day I post roll and keep my word, I refuse to mis posting roll as should you! And each day is a win One Day At A Time for me! and each day I put more distance between me and nicotine! and each day my body heals, and each day I am grateful that I didn't try and just fucking quit! Thank you KTC and congrats Mcallaway, good for you, life will be soooooooo much better soon! Now go post roll and nose to the grindstone! We will quit with you, every minute of every hour each and every day!
I would rather lose to a cheater than win as a cheater.
