BS52,

Take your lumps from those you let down and then move on. You caved? Well, you weren't the first and certainly won't be the last.

30Yr makes a great analogy with russian roulette.

Quit for today and don't cave today. Get up tomorrow and do it again.

Post Roll EVERYDAY!!

Welcome back.

If someone gave you a revolver, would you play russian roulette just once? how about over and over? That is what you are doing every time you dip. You throw one in knowing that it could be the one that starts the cancer. The one that causes you to loose your jaw, or your cheek, or your voicebox, or your eye, or your life. This is serious business. It is life or death. Get serious or get out.

I am back! I know you all are disgusted with me. I have let some many people down and burned a lot bridges. I am sorry for that. I truly am and I know a lot of you will never trust me. I don't expect any one to help me but if you can forgive me and give me some support I would appreciate it. I will only have to show you that I am serious. For right now I will fight this fight day by day hour by hour and I am not gonna let any one discourage me from doing so. You wanna know what is different this time? I can honestly admit that I am a tobacco addict. Everyone is going to tell you stay away from me. If that is what you choose to do that is fine. SCM I am sorry I let you down big time. I was selfish. Samcat you were a huge help and I let you down. You all were very supportive towards me and I did not take advantage of it. I hope you can all forgive me over time.

Hello everyone hope all is well. I would like to start off by saying that i am a dumb ass...Yes I know it... 11X4 no i don't have a special formula for my self. I am just gonna do it and I am gonna do it big with a plan. I am going to post roll every morning. I am gonna get more involved in the site. I am going to help other rookie quitters get through there quit. I am not gonna smoke cigars during my quit. I getting rid of all my cigars and my humidor. I know a lot of you are sick of me and don't believe in me, but please give me one more chance. If I cave and or I do not follow through with what I have said here I will never come back here. Which wont happen I am going to do this. Please just give me a second chance. I know a lot of you are gonna say a second chance!? You have giving me plenty of chances I know. January 2010 I want you to know that I will do all this stuff I saying and I wont put any type of nicotine into my body. Please send me a pm if you would like to talk. This is My last introduction.
So you've got a plan, but allow me to offer a few more spots that may need to be thought out. The biggest thing I'm seeing in your latest "intro" is another out. You already have a plan for slipping away and never coming back. How is the accountability this site offers going to help with a plan like that?

You are going to give up cigars too? My God, however will you handle it? _ You've been around here since before February of this year and you are just now figuring out that you have to get rid of your cigars? You may want to add paying attention to that plan. Just in case you haven't seen it, allow me to point out how you earn the right to post 1 day higher than the day before. First you post roll. Then you keep your word by not using tobacco in any form. Now read this part closely and more than once if you have to.....If you use dip, smoke a cigarette, smoke a cigar, use snus, lick the candy shell of a piece of Nicorette gum, or even hang out in the smoke shack at work trying to inhale second hand smoke, you have caved and broken your word. Read it again....again.
gotta agree...you're back to quit and stay quit, or you have no reason for being here at all.

The words "If I cave" just cannot coexist with anything else on this site, or for any quitter anywhere. There is no "If I cave". Ever. From anyone. No way can I get behind someone where part of his thinking includes "If I cave".

"When I caved" is relevant, it makes you think about how you screwed up in the past.

"I'll do everything I have to do to make damn sure I don't cave, forever" is the kind of thinking I'm looking for from absolutely everyone here.
Words...words...words....

Talk all you want, but the only thing that matters is that you keep nicotine of any form out of your system. +1 is all that matters. STFUAQ as they say.

Sounds to me like you need to give yourself a chance. Remove any temptations. Develop a plan, improve it as needed, and stick to it. DO NOT put yourself in situations where you will fail. And keep your fucking word! (In case you haven't noticed that is all we got)

You will always find someone here to support you, but you need to realize that we can't quit for you. You gotta want it! Commit yourself to this and you will find your success.

Now get it done.

Also....That line about "if you fail you will never show your face here again". That is bullshit and sounds like an easy way out. Almost like you are setting yourself up to fail. Fuck That..you are quit, so stick around.

I just gotta..... I spent a fucking hour on chat with Chanilla trying to talk you out of having a dip. You were drunker than hell. You finally said that you flushed your cans. Thats right not one but two, I guess if your going to cave you ought to get the two for one deal. So then you caved.

1. You lied about flushing the cans (unless you went and bought more)

2. Chanilla was fucking crushed when you caved and it damaged his quit to the point he caved. I hold you responsible. When somebody caves it can harm the quits of those around them, it fucks up the web of accountability.

3. You broke your word because you had posted roll. This again makes you a lying sack of donkey crap.

You better have a fucking plan and you better have one fast. You have alot to prove around here, and as far as I am concerned right now, your one step above a troll. If your serious about quitting quit, if your not, go over to QSlite and talk about quitting while you chomp nic gum and trade recipies.

Congrats on getting quit again Buckshooter. Keep it up, and be a leader for October!

One of my quit buddies in August caved.  He is at 60+ days now, he is rock solid, and has been a great member of the August group. I respect the hell out of him. You can get that back. Just drink the kool aid, and you will git'r done.

I agree with Bman 100%

Congratulations on your tough mindset, but you need to get creative and hit this quit from a different angle. Hell, I screwed up and ended up putting a Heavy Bag in my spare bedroom and I have to carry a note in my pocket every day, but....it works and its something drastically different than what I was doing before.

Change it up, keep your determined attitude, but do some totally different quit practices than you have before. It will also help to tell your subconscious, that this is different and THIS is the one!

I would say 'Good Luck', but that would infer there's a possibility of you not making it and that's not an option this time.

Stay Strong and 'Good Quit'!

I don't have a answer for you of how I am going to do it. But I do know that I am very determined and ready to quit now.
Well you better figure it out soon!

It is good that you are determined, but I don't think it is enough. What happens when that determination starts to fade because quitting becomes easier some days and then boom some serious craves hit? You will start to rationalize how you can have "Just one Dip" and boom you are right back to the can. You gotta have a plan! Your determination will get you started in this battle... but it is your word, your committment, and developing a solid support system that will make this quit last.

There is a lot of support here, use it. Now get to it.
