The best advice, and the way to get the most consistent support is to join the March '18 Quit Group, and post roll early every morning.

That will open the flood gates of support. In fact, posting roll is the cost of admission to this otherwise free site.

Think of posting roll as your solemn promise to this entire KTC community that you will not use any form of nicotine for 24 hours. By posting roll, you also accept the responsibility of holding members of your quit group accountable. You hold them accountable, they hold you accountable. Keep your word, and make your promise again tomorrow.

It really is that simple. It's as hard as hell, but it's simple.

There's some good news - after 72 hours, the nicotine is flushed out of your system. Help that process by drinking lots of water. But, after the nicotine is flushed out, the physical withdrawals are over. It's a mind game after that. Again, lean on your promise, and your brothers in quit. Exchange digits. If you are facing a really tough crave, text someone. I have another bit of good news. A crave lasts about four minutes. Those four minutes seem like an eternity when it's happening, but it's still just four minutes. Don't you think you can withstand about anything for four minutes?

So ... learn how to post roll. Get to know the guys in your group. Let the ritual of posting roll replace the ritual of putting in your first dip of the day. Reach out when you need help. Read everything on this forum that your schedule will allow. Keep your mind busy, and off of dip. Avoid going into gas stations for a while - use pay at the pump. Come back to this intro thread every once in a while, and update us as to how things are going.

Above all - stay quit and refuse to cave.
They said it all, dump all the shit into the toilet and quit like fuck!
Dude all of these BAQs are giving you support and advice and YOU have not even posted roll today -- ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

YOU need to take control of YOUR quit. There are A LOT of people here to support you but YOU have a daily obligation (as we ALL do) to promise to quit everday by POSTING ROLL.

SO if you want help and support then GET SERIOUS and POST ROLL in the March group.

I'm ready to do this. I just dipped this morning and had a moment of clarity. I don't want to keep doing this. My life was awesome without chew and I got into it looking for a way to "stay awake" while driving long distances. Since then, addiction has taken over and I feel somewhat powerless over it. I know I can do this but would like support from members here with experience.

Thanks
Jar - if you want to quit, you're in the right place.

If you haven't seen it already, you should probably read Here's How You Quit... Ball Is In Your Court Now. That gives you an overview of how KTC works.

Your next step is to post roll in the March quit group. Roll is our promise not to use nicotine today, and it's the core that makes KTC work. If you need help, there's a video that will walk you through Posting Roll on KTC Kill the Can.
"We have so much experience here in lying to ourselves and others, that it takes a strong voice to snap ourselves out of it... Be thankful that all these people are willing to be invested in you saving your life." -- drstober
"You're playing a game of chicken with a dead plant in a plastic can. If you cave you lost to a dead plant." -- Candoit
"The answer isn't more numbers. The answer is build relationships." -- Broccoli-saurus
"ok. now groop hug." -- 'drome
"The rule is WUPP (Wake Up Piss Post) regardless of time or zone, unless you are in the Phantom Zone.  In that case, hit up Jor-El and he can get you on roll." -- S412
