I'm late to the party, but welcome Jar. Keep charging through the first few days. They suck, but there's no going back now. Only you can keep that stuff out of your lip today. DO IT! You've got this and as long as you keep posting your promise, we'll be right behind you.

You guys are motivating as hell! Got out of a meeting....just dumped it down the toilet, rinsed the can out (I've dug through the trash before for scrapings) and shit-canned it. Now I figure out roll call. YUT!

Get your quit on Devildog. Realize quickly you are not quitting a habit, you are killing an addiction. That's step number one in my eyes. Quit for you and only you. You can't quit for anyone else. Yet having said that this is a brother/sisterhood. As Marines we are taught from the beginning that we fight for the Marine to our left and right. Get in your quit group and support them as they will support you.

You will find my number and email in your inbox. I'm there for you. Today I quit with you.

Ooooooo...boobies in Jville.....*shutters....

Marine. Welcome to the best decision of your life! As was said before, there are a shit ton of us here. Reach out. The brotherhood extends far and wide here, even among other than Marines (otM).

Get your word posted on Roll, and let's get some!

Welcome jar, like everyone said it gonna suck. Suck big fat dicks but it's the price we pay to get our freedom back. The reason I quit was for a job interview which tested for nicotine. After 30 days being nic free I didn't get the job. It would have been easy to get back to my addiction but I made a promise to my brothers and sister and 81 days later I'm still kicking her ass to the curb. I quit with you today bro.

Great decision to join KTC Jar. You know how to be a man of honor, so get on roll and honor your promise for today. Take it one small step at a time, we all did. Never ever forget that there is no such thing as "just one". Quit with you.

Buckle up, and always remember the next 3-4 days. It's called the SUCK for a reason.

Haven't had a dip since 9:30....so I guess that's it! Holy shit here we go. Like the first hill of a roller coaster.
Let's be honest, the first few days are going to SUCK! I can't even describe the level of SUCK that you are about to experience. But somehow, knowing that it is going to SUCK ahead of time makes it slightly easier. Do whatever it takes to keep that cat turd out of your mouth. Get some fake dip, chew seeds, eat candy... just stay clear of the nic bitch. I'm on day 26 free of nicotine myself, and I promise that it gets a little easier every day. And I feel better today than I have felt in years.

Make no mistake, you will have a long road ahead. The key, as you will hear over and over again, is taking it one day at a time. ODAAT.

I quit with you today brother.

Welcome Devil Dawg! This place is chocked full of Marines that are bad asses, but couldn't quit worth a fuck until they found KTC.

So, this is pretty easy to do. Sit down read up and let's do this:

1. Learn how to Post Roll; this is your daily promise that you will quit. Remember your promise to you and everyone else who is quitting with you

2. Then if today is day one, flush your stash down the toilet (do not put it in the trash...as trash is still accessible) and then go post roll with The November 2015 Zombies Quit Group; November will be the day you reach 100 days quit (not healed but the Hall Of Fame).

3. Get to know other quitters, exchange numbers and grow a network of accountability for yourself.

4. Prepare for a craving, this is going to suck until it doesn't; pony up and when a craving hits you drop down and push the ground until the craving goes away. Physical exercise is a huge crutch, so is lots of water and finding an alternative.

5. Avoid triggers, that buddy who dips, that gas station where you always bought, that fishing hole, WTF ever you used to "always do"...don't fucking do it.

6. Include your loved ones, tell them about your quit, come clean and use their support and buy in Spousal Support

7. Never and I mean never ever take your nicotine caused rage and force that onto anyone else but yourself...unless of course someone held you down and made you dip every single time before today.

8. Read all the stories and intros on this site, it will help you plan for what is to come. I thought I was ready until the first major hurdle popped up and I panicked...luckily another quitter here helped me see the path. Use your fellow quitters as guides, they do know what you are experiencing and they can understand.

9. Next remember that it is OK to be vulnerable at times.

10. Learn What to expect when you quit dipping

Now Semper Fi, Marine!

P.S. The above underlined and highlighted words are safe links to places on this forum to help guide you.
"If you want to quit then stop talking and just QUIT. If you want to kill yourself a bullet is cheaper and faster than a tin, plus it eliminates my hearing you whine and cry like a bitch."

Throw out any and all dip/paraphernalia and start today. Today is your day one and your quit date can be 8/20/15.

I signed up in February and was going to join a group but I began to read the initial introduction and it said that I had to get rid of all my stuff. I thought to myself, I have a 1/2 can I will finish that and sign up for a quit group and intro tomorrow..... Finally In August after several more months of 5 + cans a week, I finally got around to signing up. This place can help you and do it now, pushing it to tomorrow could mean tomorrow is August of 2016.
