I joined KTC just over a year ago. I was seeking help to quit smokeless tobacco. Everyone was so friendly and supportive I was happy with my decision. I started posting roll call and getting comfortable. Then some jackass sent me a pm explaining his rules for my quit. Excuse Me? I was 58 years old and really didn't need or ask for his input. Long story short, I haven't had ANY tobacco in over 14 months and will never use it again. The sad thing is there were times when I could have used some friendly support and being strong enough to quit on my own I could have probably been some help to someone else who was struggling. It seems that within even the best organizations there is always at least one know it all moron. Thanks anyway KTC and keep up the good work!
You let another man impose his will on you via PM?

Since the public school kid wants the answer given to him......read here.

index.php?showtopic=3731

On August 9, 2010 he posts a day 12.  Anyone see anything wrong with that?  I hope so.  If I counted like that I'd be posting BBJ numbers.  I informed him that he should be posting a day one and politely (and I'm serious about that) offered support.  Apparently, his 58 year old butt got quite sore over this and well, here we are today.

If that's what it took for him to stay quit for 14 months, then mission accomplished, I just hope he learnt how to count.

Wow. When you quit vanilla skoal, do you have to quit penis too?
Nope.

But you're usually asked to give titty fucks for 10-15 days after quitting it. It's called the vanilla skoal pole roll.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Looks like that jackass gave you some motivation to stay quit for 14 months.....congrats!

Care to explain, in a little more detail, the circumstances around this pm, or shall I?
um...are you the jackass, uncle redtrain? 'Popcorn'
You take what you need and you leave the rest. That's how this site works. Everyone throws their philosophies out there and you choose the ones that fit your needs. I don't understand why you came back. I congratulate you on your quit, I hope you stay there, but other people need this accountability. Keep your negativity out of KTC.
I may have been, although most likely not the only one...at least I hope not.

The story, though obscure, is all here. Read his original intro.....extra credit goes to the crack pot researcher that figures it out.
There are 65 pages of intros. How about bumping it to the top or just spilling the answer, Mr. Miyagi?
35 years of using, 14 months attempt, multiple relapses, 5 posts.

"New guy looking for help" - probably got some solid advice.

The site is what you make it.
In this world, accountability is king. Not posting roll is setting you up for fail.

One more thing...you got out of this site exactly what you put in.  _

and finally - I'll give you a bit of (un-deserved and I am sure unwanted) advice-14 months quit does not make you completely cured. That is the nature of addiction.
I quit with you 30.
and I with you, Souli!
