Below are some of the tools I have added to the toolkit. I began the process of preparing my body and mind for the day when I would say no more and finally put down the dip. That happened a week ago and here is what I have used and what I am continuing to use. Methods, ways means will change over time and grow as we grow.
Books : Because mastering oneself is the hardest thing to do. I wanted to take control of my thought processes and cease the negative self-defeating behavior. I knew that nicotine was holding me back in my life, my career and my inter-personal relationships. The thing is, knowing that and being able to do something about it is 2 separate things. The EQ 2.0 helped me to begin the transformation by being more self-aware and doing something about it.
EQ 2.0
Standout 2.0
Leadership 2.0
Meditation : I have dabbled in this from time to time over the past 20 or so years. I find that doing this for at least 10 minutes a day has been a great help to me. I usually do this within a few hours of first waking up. This helps me to set a positive tone for the day and puts me in a good place.
Youtube : Search for 10-minute meditations
Apps: Headspace, Zmeditations, Omvana, GPS4Soul
Posting Roll : I have found myself waking up and thinking of posting roll before a thought of a dip enters my mind. I used to always wake up and my first thoughts were of a dip. I absolutely hated that and I hated the power that substance held over me. Now, I get on my computer, post roll try to pass on any support I can because when we help someone else out, we also help ourselves out.
