I have a drawer at work that has everything in it that I may need. Candy, gum, seeds, crackers, bottled water, beef jerky and a bunch of other odd foods that are too processed to admit too. What ever helps you is what you need to use. As long as it does not have nicotine in it, it's fair game. I wont even judge you if you elect to eat cat litter. If it works.

Lib,

I used to take a walk every time one hit. Exercise is clinically proven to decrease the frequency and intensity of craves.

Keep your blood sugar steady- a crash will cause a crave.

cut back caffiene to about half of what your used to

That will help alot
"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

Lib, I know how you love your little girl.  I have a very precious daughter as well.  Everytime you or I or anybody else for that matter go out and buy a can of lip shit we are funding some CEO of a tobacco company.  He takes your money away from your little girl, poisons her daddy with the shit he just sold you.  He then uses that money to buy the crap that he doesn't need and when he has killed you, he will use your money to get someone else addicted and do it over and over.  Don't let these fuckers take away from your kids and kill you while they do it.  It's a double slam on your daughter to take away her money and her daddy.

Just a thought.

I'm doing pretty good. I only have 4 hours and that's a complete 24 hours. I'm feeling a little dizzy but I'm sure that will go away soon. I really feel strong about this and when I get a crave I just think about my doughter and chew a piece of gum. Seems to be working so far. My Fucking gums tingle tho that's a weird ass feeling. Thanks for all your help so far. It really has helped!

Fight craves with water, exercise (push-ups), quick log on here, call a buddy, review "The Contract," mints, gum, candy, dick-in-drawer, etc...

And remember to turn the tables on the Nic Bitch....embrace the withdrawals. Tell yourself "I GET to feel this shitty because I DECIDED to quit." Being quit is a privilege. You're in control now. You're calling the shots.

Click on the "KillTheCan.org" link above and read the Tom and Jenny Kern story. Read the part about Tom's daughter at his feet in his hospital bed pleading "Daddy, don't go" as he took his last breaths. Read Jenny's journal entries about the months and years that follow. What do you think Tom would tell you about how to deal with craves? He might stick you dick in the desk drawer himself!!!

You can do this. Embrace the suck. Develope a strong hatred for all things nicotine. Let your anger towards American tobacco grow. They want you to spend your time and money with them instead of your little girl. I bet those mother-fuckers would laugh and high-five each other if they saw your daughter mimicking you with the spit-bottle.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
As was pointed out already physical activity was key for me. When a bad craving came, I would immediately stop and do push ups or burpees until it went away.

Water intake helps reduce the frequency of the craves.

The other thing to do it just stay committed to your quit. Tell yourself that you are quit and the addict side of your brain can just fuck off.
"If you want to quit then stop talking and just QUIT. If you want to kill yourself a bullet is cheaper and faster than a tin, plus it eliminates my hearing you whine and cry like a bitch."

Best thing I have read on KTC...Submitted by tgafish on 7/3/14

Former Skoal Straight and Cope Longcut user that started at the age of 12. QUIT on 7/15/13

I use fake Smokey MT dip, jerky and gum. I exercise...a lot. Talk or text to friends I have made here if I'm struggling, even if I'm not. Drink a shitload of water every day. I know you said you're not around a computer much, but when you are scour this website. Lots of great stories and tools are available. Embrace the suck, remember it so you'll not ever want to repeat it. Post roll, no nicotine...it's real simple, just not easy. Thousands here have done it, you need to as well. Reach out, lots of willing quitters here to help you. Don't do it alone, John Wayne, get our help. Become a bad ass quitter!

First thing's first: post roll with your May 2014 brothers. Make "Day 2" the goal you fight for today. You posted roll yesterday after tossing the last dip from your mouth -- that was the easy part. Show us you've got the sack to beat the suck on day 2...

Alright Lilb, saw your Day 1 in the books for today -- welcome to Project Mayhem! Everyone here wants to make sure that's your last day 1, but ultimately you have the greatest power over your actions, and how they will impact those closest to you. You've got countless hardcore quit veterans here that have stories identical to yours -- highly recommend that you absorb their stories, especially in the early days of their respective quits. You'll be amazed at how your dipping experiences mirror those of a lot of us. Next few days are likely to be bumpy, so reach out to some of us in your May Quit Group to help you get through it. You can do it...
