Just started my quit, on day 6. Anxiety and insomnia are really ramping up. Anybody have tips for dealing with insomnia during this stage?

Hey man just saw this post. And I’m commenting now a month later so other people can read it. I took L- Dopa ( mucina puriens) it’s basically like a natural dopamine producer. I found it helpful others have tried it and it didn’t work for them, just don’t forget even brain chemistry is a little different and your brain is trying to balance out

P-Q4 and 2can said “Go cold turkey Man, Flush it all!”,
So I loaded up twelve cans and went to the bathroom stall.

It took three flushes to get rid of It,
(Two more flushes than a typical shit:)

Now that was seven days ago and I’m still dip free,
I remember “The Flush” every time I go pee.

So F-U tobacco and Nicotine can kiss my ass,
I’m saving my teeth, gum’s and storing some cash.

I’ve been a bit grouchy during my quit,
So if you don’t like my poem you can suck my di*k.

I’m not sayin it’s been easy or fun not having a good pinch,
But at least for now and ever I won’t be Copenhagen’s bitch!

This. Is. Amazing.
@RubiconOne - FYI, I moved your original post to WOW.

Just started my quit, on day 6. Anxiety and insomnia are really ramping up. Anybody have tips for dealing with insomnia during this stage?
Try some melatonin or a couple benadryl

Yep... drinking lots of water and doing some physical activity will help as well. Hang in there!

This is also a good read WHAT'S WRONG WITH OCCASIONAL CIGAR?

Also, please share with your group whenever you can.  You guys have quieted down a lot recently, but there are new guys that could use this information as well.

Thanks, that was a good read.  The Tips aren’t a real talkative bunch, but I’ll give it a shot.

I couldn't figure out how to start a new thread and wasn't sure i wanted to post this in roll call.  What is the consensus on cigars?  I think i know the answer; but do any of you quitters have an occasional cigar?  I'm not planning on it anytime soon, but generally have a few at the beach when i go.  I'm not doing it this year for sure because i'm only 27 days quit, but wanted to see input from some of the vets.

Thanks.

I think you know the answer too.

When you post roll, you make a promise to not use nicotine in any form. Cigars are a form of nicotine.

Use of cigars is caving, every bit is much as stuffing a dip into your lip.

Think of it this way - say you had a friend who was an alcoholic. Jack Daniels is his drink of choice. Say that friend quit drinking Jack. Would you offer him a Bud Light to celebrate his sobriety?

That's kind of what i figured.  Thanks!

Thanks Irish and Chris.  Honestly, say 8 and 9 were great.  10 is starting out the same; we’ll see how the weekend goes, but just worried about today right now.

You know Chris, you’re right about finding a new hobby.  I bought a guitar a few years ago.  Played a little, but would drink while I played and get sloppy; then finish it with a dip.  Never amounted to anything, but I think I’m going to dust that thing off tonight and give it another try.

Thanks for the advice!
