@dwhisman15 Hey brother, just came back to our discussion. Doesn't seem like you began posting roll. I assume you're still using nicotine. I was hoping you would be celebrating your month without nicotine at this time. I hope you find your way back to this site and quit.

Congrats brother on you HOF. Keep doing you and help those following you.
HOF is amazing. and 101 even better. Never see the same number again , EVER

Congratulations on your HOF brother. How fortunate that a post and ghoster dropped one in your intro as an ever present reminder how so many wish to escape but so few actually do. Keep on keepin on and reaching out to new quitters.

Do you and would you have the ability to help out with the SSOA/ tracking down the missing/ and/or roll flipping duties in your April 2020 quit group? Any help at all is much appreciated and goes along way when it comes to Brotherhood + Accountability. Thanks in advance!
Hey man I just saw this! I would love to help out. However I will need to know exactly what this entails/how much time is needed. I have 2 kids under the age of 4 and work full time. I would love to help my brethren in their quits though. Let me know man.

Hey Chaston,

I am 36, I started smoking and dipping around the age of 15, then went straight to smoking while i was in the military. I then quit smoking when my first daughter was born almost fifteen years ago. I then picked up just dipping and doing more of it. Today is my first day not dipping, my last dip was last night around 7pm. I have been doing the nicotine lozenges, but doesnt seem to be doing much. I really want to quit this time. I have been looking online at support groups and mint alternatives, as well as nicotine gum. Hang in there and I hope that when you are celebrating your month of no dip, i will be a few days off and celebrating mine as well.

Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and get involved.

Thanks
Nice to meet you brother. Tobacco is a bitch I wish I would've never met. But enough is enough. In regard to your nicotine replacement therapy, you should give going cold turkey a wholehearted try. That's currently what I'm doing now. I am using Smokey Mountain herbal snuff (wintergreen) as a buffer between quitting and living nicotine free. You should try it if you haven't already. Yeah it's different from traditional snuff, but it's something to put in your lip that gives you the burn and tastes somewhat decent (if you dip wintergreen).

What mentally helps me with going cold turkey, is the satisfaction in knowing that my chances of having an acute cardiac event are decreased, my blood pressure isn't elevated, I'm not forming microlesions in my arteries, and I'm decreasing the chances of oral/pharyngeal cancer (I am a medical professional {which honestly makes my nicotine/tobacco habit all the worse}, sorry for the health spiel). I'm not sure if you are a Christian or not, but it also gives me the satisfaction that I am not destroying my God-given body/health by giving in to a substance that captivates your mind which displeases God. Those reasons help me along with going cold turkey.

I hope that in 1 month we can celebrate together as well brother. Hang in there and never give up the fight. Have you printed out your Quit contract? If not take a look at it, pretty compelling.
I like the discussion guys! @dwhisman15 KTC is a nicotine free site. Thus, nicotine in ANY form is prohibited. Cold turkey is one and only way we operate around here. So if you have any gum or lozenges or anything with any amount of nicotine in it, flush it NOW. Nicotine is the enemy we are all fighting here. We are addicts to this terrible drug. We make a promise each day to not use nicotine in any form and then focus on keeping our word for the next 24 hours. Go to the April 2020 group and post your promise with them early, each and every day.

Hey guys, Chaston here. I just joined KTC. I am 27 and a 10 year user of Grizzly Wintergreen. I'm doing it (quitting) this time for good. No more excuses or failed attempts. I really dig the motto "brotherhood + accountability = success" I hope this site will help me. It's officially been 24 hours. Lord be with me through this journey of beating addiction.

Welcome Chaston, Congratulations on making it 24 hours.  ACCOUNTABILITY + BROTHERHOOD = SUCCESS it what brought me here just over 2 years ago.  Follow that link that Keith gave you and head over to the April 2020 group and post roll.  That is where the rubber meets the road and you see that formula in action.  Get to know the other April 2020 quitters and start exchanging digits, mine are always a PM away.  May sound weird now but I can guarantee you there will be a time either you or one of your brothers need them.

Modified:  I see you posted roll with April 2020, way to stick that roll post.
I second that, good job nailing the roll.  Glad you're here man, way to reclaim your life for freedom!
Thanks for the support guys. I can already feel that this time will be different. As with quit attempts in the past, I had no one to hold me accountable which is why I eventually succumbed to one dip that was offered and it all went downhill form there. Not this time. Oddly enough, I haven't really had any cravings. Some tingling in my lower lip a couple of times but not too many cravings, praise the Lord.

Welcome Chaston. Glad you've decided that enough is enough and that you're willing to join a support group to make it happen. Be sure to take the link that Keith gave you and post your name and day count every morning you wake up as a promise to not use nicotine in any form. Absolutely make connections with those in your group, this is a vital step in the ACCOUNTABILITY + BROTHERHOOD = SUCCESS formula. Congratulations on making it 24 hrs, lets go get another 24 together!

Welcome @AwakenedOne . Great job signing up. https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16165.0 Is the link to the April 20 20 quit group. Go post your promise to stay nic free for the day. Keep you promise. Repeat the process everyday. We wake up, piss,  and post first thing - WUPP - first thing EDD every damn day to take the risk of using nicotine off the table. Check your messages as fellow quitters will reach. Suggest you exchange digits, only through personal messages, and never in the intro section or forum. Don’t be afraid to build relationships. They are crucial to your quit. You can do this and we are here to help.
