Day 34 starts today. Positive is that I am still not having cravings. I'm to the point where I pretty much go the whole day without thinking about it.

On the downside I'm still having some periodic pain in my jaw and weird feelings with my tongue. I've stepped up my overall oral hygiene though and am brushing more and using mouthwash. We'll see how it goes. My employer seems to be dragging their feet on giving me an answer on the dental plan so a dentist visit is still on hold, which is frustrating.
No worries.  Until you have that dentist appointment, have no worries.  You can be worried the day of.  It’s normal to be.  Then, when you hear the good news, you’ll feel better.  Your dentist will be thrilled with the decision you’ve made and tell you what you need to do to get that mouth back in better shape.  Quitting is a process with some shitty things that we must go through to reverse our damage of the past (physically, mentally, spiritually, etc.)  But once you get past that crap, it gets better.  One day at a time.

28 days down. Had a better day yesterday. Felt like my pain was less frequent (unless I'm just imagining it). Spent the day staying busy around the house since I had the day off. Helps to keep my hands and brain occupied. Here's hoping for another good one today.
Hey Terry, you got it right there - staying busy and keeping occupied.  Those are some valuable tools in the youth of our quits.  Keep it up brotha! Congrats on 4 weeks

Thanks  :)

Day 30 starts today. Still having periodic symptoms of pain but I am staying positive and trying to ascertain if I'm feeling it less frequently. I started the process of getting closer to a dentist checkup. I have to get added to my company's dental policy first which may complicate things. Plus I haven't been to the dentist in 10 years!

I'm not really even sure what to tell the dentist. I've never admitted to any of my doctors that I chewed. As far as the insurance company knows, I've never done it. Something to think about I guess.

Do you and would you have the ability to help out with the SSOA/ tracking down the missing/ and/or roll flipping duties in your April 2020 quit group? Any help at all is much appreciated and goes along way when it comes to Brotherhood + Accountability. Thanks in advance!

Decided to keep posting like some others have done and keep a 'journal' of sorts.

Day 26. Cravings are down. Frankly with all the pain I'm experiencing I can't envision caving at this point.

Still experiencing pain in the jaw. Seems to be getting worse instead of better. Everyone on KTC has given good advice and told me to remain patient, but it's damned hard to! I really want to go and get checked out, but I don't want to overreact to what may just be quitting symptoms.

In my personal experience I "overreacted" and went to the doctor, and dentist.  Had a CT Scan, Endoscope, laryngoscopy, barium swallow, and an oral exam.  Even though it is going to cost me tons of money.. I don't regret it.  My anxiety about it had gotten so bad that everyday was horrible, and I just needed to closure.

Hey @TerryConklin .  Great job on 26 days!  Things will get better for you.  If you are anything like me, it will take a while and your gains will be slow, but it WILL improve.

My opinion, if you have been having pain for ~2 weeks, I'd go talk to a Dr.  If you are over reacting then great.  If not, you'll get a jump on whatever it is.  Approach this like your quit, one moment at a time.  No sense in jumping to conclusions even though it's a challenge not to.  Lean on your group and the greater KTC community for support as you go through this.  Most of us have had similar scares and anxious appointments.  You've got this brother.  Hold the line man.

Knowledge is huge. If issues are negatively impacting you go to the doc and get checked out. Piece of mind is priceless. With that said - your body will be going through a lot of change for a while.

Hello all. I'm 3 weeks down. I found this site a while back and decided to join for some insight and support.

I was a Grizz Green guy. My workplace is full of chewers and it's definitely an enabling environment. You get in such a routine, where it's just a normal part of your day. Getting in a tractor? Time for a chew. About to tear apart a motor? Throw a chew in.

I noticed I'd developed leukoplakia a little while back. I had no idea what it was and it scared me. I asked a co worker if he'd had it before and he said "yeah it happens. Move it to the other side and it'll go away. "

I decided then and there I was done. I'd convinced myself earlier last year that I was done for after I had pain in my lymph node area in my neck. Thousands in medical bills later (including an ultrasound) I was told I was fine. Stupidly I went right back to it.

I got home from work 3 weeks ago on the day I decided to quit and when I saw my wife I was more sure than ever I wanted to quit. I couldn't imagine throwing my health away and leaving my wife on her own. I decided right then I was going to do it, for me and for her.

Ever since quitting, my leukoplakia cleared up, but I have been dealing with a perpetual sore throat and a really sore jaw, especially around where I'd usually chew. I've been reading this is fairly normal? I am trying hard not to go hypochondriac on it and get all kinds of sickness anxiety over it. I asked my best buddy about it (he quit about 5 years ago for a while) and he said (in his typical fashion) "oh yeah you'll have pain. That's all your shit coming back to normal!"

Glad to be on a path to better choices.
@TerryConklin welcome to KTC. What was the last day you dipped? I want to direct you to the correct quit group. We wake up, piss, post our promise to stay nicotine free (WUPP) every damn day (EDD). After that  you just have to keep your promise. Fellow quitters will reach out to you. Feel free to exchange digits only through personal messages and never through this Intro section or on the forum. Make connections. It isn’t about quantity but quality. You can do this and we are here to help.

Your buddy was spot on when he said -  "oh yeah you'll have pain. That's all your shit coming back to normal!". It's different for everyone, but I had some jaw pain too when I first quit.

You are a member of the April 2020 Quit Group, found here: https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16165.msg7704085#new

Go to your quit group, and learn to post roll.

Proud to quit with you.
Great job posting roll. Keep your promise and come back and post roll first thing tomorrow.
