I'm ready! The reason I didn't do it today is I had a 4 hour drive with the mother in law. Pretty stressful. Knew I would be under stress. Being realistic about it...
Matthew
Matthew. I am glad you are ready. As soon as you have decided that you are (present tense) quit, you should go ahead and post day 1 in the August quit group.
I do have to tell you, there are some things in your thinking that you are going to have to address in order to stay quit...The one that jumps out at me from this post is your association of dip and stress relief. You are going to have stress during your quit. At first a lot of the stress is going to be from withdrawal from nicotine. As others have stated before: The only thing nicotine is good for is temporarily relieving the symptoms of the withdrawal of nicotine. You have got to stop thinking of snus/nicotine as a means of dealing with stress. There are many ways to effectively deal with stress, nicotine is not one of them. Brisk exercise, for example is much better at relieving stress. Go for a walk, jog, bike ride, hike, join a gym, whatever.
You have to make the decision that you are quit no matter what problems/stresses life throws at you. Nicotine doesn't solve problems, anyway. It creates them.
I hope to see your day 1 post soon.
