Day six of kicking the can. The worst part is not being able to drink due to the intense trigger it causes me.

So. I am on day 20 and the last week or so have been rough. Just a quick question about the mint snuff: Does this bring back the triggers even more?
For some people it may. For others (myself included) it scratches that itch to get you past a really rough crave.

Reading for the weekend . . . .

Twenty-Five Things I Will Never Miss About Dip

1.   Stained fingers
2.   Tobacco crud beneath my finger nails.
3.   Burning eyes after IÂ’ve rubbed them with stained fingers.
4.   The stinking trash can under my desk that I used for a spittoon.
5.   Discovering reeking spit bottles that IÂ’ve forgotten about.
6.   Spitting in my coffee cup, sometimes even before it was empty.
7.   Spit stains down the outside window and door of my truck.
8.   Trying to talk when I needed to spit.
9.   Keeping my mouth shut tight because I have no place to spit.
10.   Crap breath.
11.   Sneaking off to the store at midnight because IÂ’ve run out.
12.   Sore mouth.
13.   Dribble on my shirts.
14.   Gastro-intestinal discomfort and upset stomach.
15.   Lying to my wife and kids that I wasnÂ’t chewing.
16.   Pretending that no one can tell IÂ’m dipping.
17.   Hiding the can inside my coat or beneath my wallet.
18.   Hacking and coughing because I fell asleep with a fatty in my lip and swallowed some.
19.   Spitting down the straws of soft drinks so no one can tell IÂ’m spitting.
20.   Worrying everyday that I might have or get oral cancer.
21.   Filling the pockets of Big Tobacco.
22.   Looking for the can the first thing in the morning.
23.   Staying up late to get in that last dip for the day.
24.   Avoiding a kiss from my beautiful wife because I was dipping.
25.   Telling myself that I enjoyed all this.

Welcome abord Brandon.
Day 14 and now Ive started finding half full cans of dip everywhere. Its starting to piss me off. So today I will line up the now empty cans(dumped out not diped out) and Shoot the SOB's with my rifle. Its gona be a good day.

How did you all deal with the found can problem.
You dump it in the toilet and flush.
A promise not kept is the road to exile.

If quitting is cool, consider me Myles Davis.

Unless you bring value onto my 1/2 acre, I don't want to hear it.

Success comes in ‘Cans’

If you’re an athlete, or a coach you may have heard this before: Success comes in ‘Cans’, NOT ‘can’ts’.

Here are a few things I can do:

I can post roll today.

I can keep my word.

I can come back tomorrow.

I can mow the lawn without a dip.

I can change the oil in my car without a dip.

I can pay at the pump instead of going into the C-Store.

I can call my quit brother when I have a crave.

I can look my wife in the eye and KNOW I am not lying to her.

I can play ball with my kids because IÂ’m not hiding out to have a dip.

I can spend time with my family.

I can kiss my wife without fear that “She’ll know”.

I can stay quit for the next 5 minutes because the craving is so bad I want to pull my eyes out.

I can rage in the forums rather than scream at my kids.

I can taste food better.

I can call my dentist and keep that appointment.

I can help another quitter thatÂ’s having a bad day.

I canÂ…Â…

Well? What CAN you do?
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

Welcome Brandon!

Your quit group is September 2011. That is when you will have 100 days quit under your belt.

index.php?showtopic=4751

Here's how to post roll:

index.php?showtopic=50

As far as advice

1. Post roll every day as the first thing you do. This is not a status report, it is a promise to everyone that posts in your quit group that you will not use nicotine in any form- just for that day.

2. Honor that promise

3. Wake up tomorrow, and post roll call again.

4. These first three days are going to be intense. Remember always how bad they suck. Know that you never have to repeat them.

5. You can do this.

Glad to be quit with you,

30

It's strange but, today seems like an even better day to quit than yesterday.
Congrats 9! I'm quit with you today.
Even in this cold non-spring we have been having - it is good to quit.
It may have been a shit spring so far, but like our quit, one day at a time, and today has been an excellent day to quit with sun and warmth in the northeast!
