  Baseball Tobacco Struggles

Just thought I would drop this here for more folks to see. It is sad how many of us have struggled over the years with this. Pretty good read and gripping!

WOW!!! Great Article Strotos...thanks for sharing. Just goes to show, nobody is immune to the addictiveness.

This type exposure can only help in raising the education level of kids that hold these players up as idols.

Thanks for the article Stratos. A good read (even if that damn baseball wallpaper made me nuts). "Smokeless tobacco also is banned by the NCAA. But some college players and coaches dip anyway." It used to be readily available for free (free seeds from those manufacturers, too - wohoooo!), so just taking a position is a big step in the right direction, if true.

I haven't posted on the roll call in quite some time.  I guess I should start again, but felt the need to post here just to let people know how fucked up nicotine Xis, just how hard it is to stay quit.   It takes a strong will.  It takes GUTS, BALLS, or whatever other phrase you wanna throw out there, to stay quit.

I haven't dipped in 774 days.   Today, I walked into a liquor store and saw the display as soon as I walked in.   Man in front of me asked for a can of Cope.  For that second, I wanted it.  I wanted to dip.   I miss it.  STILL.  I miss the comforting feeling I got from it.  Crutch?  Sure.  Bad for me?  Absolutely.  Doesn't matter, I wanted it.   It's easier to say no now more than it ever was, but that damn nic bitch is still deep inside me, still to this day.   I'll smoke a cigar this weekend, I'll do that on occasion, maybe fill that need just a little bit, but it's not the same as when I was dipping. 

Not sure why I'm posting, maybe just it's just theraputic for me.  It's a difficult task to stay quit, but it can be done!   Nicotine is so addicting, so controlling.  I think that's what keeps me quit.  I have to remind myself that I can't become of slave to that garbage ever again.  I can't beat me, it won't beat me.  I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO BEAT ME EVER AGAIN.

i hate to say it scott, but i agree with remmy here... this is a cave. you're still dip free but you went back to the nic bitch... perhaps if you hadn't had a cigar "now and then" the nic bitch wouldn't be whispering so lound in your ear when you walk into the c-store.

we're addicts... not recovering addicts but ACTIVE addicts. always will be.

someone much smarter than i made this analogy long ago... an alcoholic doesn't quit drinking beer by switching to jack and coke... in the same vein we can't quit dip by switching to cigs, cigars, snuff, chew or the patch... same drug, different delivery.

i hope to see you real soon... good to have you back... bad to see the circumstances.

Look, I smoked a cigar now and then before I dipped. It's not a replacement. I enjoy a good cigar maybe once a month, IF that. I'm a nicotine addict, I know this, always will be. But if I can stay off dip, and have a cigar every now and then, I'm not going to worry about my health and quality of life.

I like this place, and it was helpful with my quit. In fact, I'm not sure I could have done it without it. However, I think to say I need to post day 1 or something of that sort is a bit much. Thanks for helping me quit dipping.
