To the new quitters that are or will be slipping back into the Nic Bitch's clutches, think about how you're going to feel after you've caved. Think of caving like having an extramarital affair with a two bit whore. True it may feel good...hell it may feel fucking awesome but when the novelty wears off the life altering guilt steps in. All those good feelings are gone and have been replaced with the knowledge that YOU just pissed away all that was good in your life for a cheap roll in the hay with the Nic Bitch.
You will NEVER regret Quitting. You will ALWAYS regret caving.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

Ok, this is the start of day one. I decided to quit because of dental issues and insurance reasons. I'm 24 and started dipping when i was 19. Will it be any easier for me because I've only dipped for 5 years?
Well I'll tell you this. I started chewing at 18 and chewed for 5 years (Exactly 5). I'm 23 years old now and I quit 6 days ago. Who cares if it is "easier". Care that you had the foresight to cut this shit early. I'm 23 and apparently I need to go see an oral surgeon next week. Wake the fuck up and stop chewing. For me the cravings weren't bad day one, they were bad days 2-4 around mid day and then once again at 8 PM. Buy the fake chew and look forward to it arriving in the mail after you've already started the quit. I'm on day 6 and the cravings that I have now actually make me laugh because of how easy they are to manage.

Nope I quit on the 14, but been reading people's stories for weeks, just figure I would let you know that this site really helped push me to quit. So I am past my 72 hour mark with no nicotine, just the fake pouches. I really don't have any crazy urges at all.
What Idaho Spuds is talking about is your HOF Quit Group will be January because your quit day is between 9/24 and 10/24. If you maintain your quit you will achieve Hall of Fame status sometime in January. If you want to know the exact day, just extrapolate 100 days from your quit date. Remember you have to post roll call daily, be totally nic free and be honest to you and your group otherwise it's hell to pay.

I'm new here, just singed up today. Been thinking about quitting for a while now (who hasn't?). I started smoking about 6 years ago. Then I started chewing on and off about 3 years ago, starting chewing more and more over the past year. I decided to stop smoking and figured it'd be easier if I used a little chew to help not smoke. BIG mistake! I'm almost 3 weeks without a cigarette now but I've been chewing like crazy, with an hour drive to and from work it's hard not to. I made up my mind to order some herbal nicotine chew and see how that does. Once that comes in the mail I'm gonna throw out my Cope for good.
Matt Welcome to KTC,
Chew and nicotine is a hard addiction to quit (harder than cigarettes).
First step is to get over the January 2015 Pre HOF and post roll. This is your daily promise to not use nicotine in any form.
It is going to be hard, fake chew, gum, seeds, and a lot of water will help. This site works, read, build a network of support.

topic/10564902/301/#new

Try these instructions for: PC How to post roll

1. Login, go to your quit page, think about what you are going to post.
2. Find the most recent post
3. hit F5 or refresh the page
4. Press "quote" on the roll
5. Click in the box that has all of the Roll posts (the lower box), hit CTRL-A to select all and Press CTRL-X to CUT, not copy-if you copy, then you'll double post roll.
6. Click to the reply window and press CTRL+V to paste it in. Then write in your name, day and your promise
7. Press submit-done.

I am on Day 3 today and so far it has not been that bad, been doing the smokey mountain stuff, I like winter green pouches. In the military so chewing is ok in my shop and it got out of control when I dipped 3 cans a day going on 9 years. So far the only thing it affects is my sleep I stay up way later and wake up almost every hour for no reason. I went into the gas station today and thought hmm.. I should buy a can....then when I got to the front of the line, I thought ehh better not. I have always worked out hard every day almost so I think all that sweating has helped. I just want to throw a dip in and then I put in one of the fake pouches and it does the trick. Great website been coming here for weeks, setting a time and day to quit.
I'm confused. Are you Day 3 Quit, or are you setting a day to Quit?

If you are on Day 3, then get your ass to Jan 2015 and join your brothers.

If you are waiting for some magical day...it's here. It's Now.

You say this is a great website, and you've been coming here for weeks, but your join date is today, and you have one singular post. Why not jump in tits deep and get involved. This place will save your life.

I'm proof it works.

Anyone using iOS 8?

I'm told it's different than previous versions on how you post roll on KTC?

I haven't updated yet, so can't see for myself what is going on and how to help. If it's different, please explain how to post roll so we can point people here.
I have only, in 642 days, posted roll from my iPhone... until today.

I cannot figure it out with the new update. Hit quote... hold finger down... select all... then nothing.

Any ideas?
I've updated, I've used it, no problems.
I updated earlier today and I can't figure it out either. Can't cut the original post. When you select all the entire page is highlighted.
Got it to work once but not the next time.
When selecting to cut make sure the cursor is on the last word of the post, that seems to work.
Am I the only one that can't figure this out?
I guess wt's suggestion of cursor placement didn't work?

Sorry, man, I haven't updated yet based on this so I can't help. Anyone else?
It does suck! If I was new I'd say screw it. Sometimes it's nearly impossible to get that curser where you want it.
Even with the older iOS, sometimes After the text is highlighted, I do not get the coypu or cut buttons. I then have to scroll the whole page just a fraction and when I release the cut or copy function then appears.
I've experienced everything everyone has mentioned here, and yes, sometimes I need to make sure the cursor is at the end.

FUSTEVEJOBSRIP
Tap the bottom box, it should enlarge. Tap it again - might have to hold your finger on it longer, select/select all etc should pop up, tap select all then tap cut, then tap on the top box twice and the paste option should pop up.

Those that are haveing trouble, what phone are you using? I'm on a 4s and it sucks. Most of the time when 'selecting all' the whole damn page highlights. I've posted on this phone nearly every day for 916 days and have dealt with changes but this is terrible, getting to that last word in the bottom box isn't easy. Scrolling within the box is nearly impossible sometimes.
For what it's worth - I've opened up a support ticket with Zetaboards. I'm not sure if it's something they can / will address as it's not really their stuff that's broken, but I'm doing what I can from the tech side of things. Will report back here when I hear something.
4S also. It is impossible. I used to post in 16 groups a day. Now I'm usually asking for hel to post in mine only. Thanks chewie. Appreciate the help.
Heard back from support on this issue.

They were able to confirm the issue using 8.1 and they're trying to diagnose the cause to see if its something they can fix on their end, or if they will have to wait for another Apple update.

Moto288,
You have came to the right place. First thing to do is to dump all cans and spitters. This is the first day of your quit.
Second thing is to post roll, this is the backbone of the website, your promise to not use nicotine today.

Ok I'm new. I'm a 41 yr old woman and I've dipped for 27 years. Started at 14 yrs old hanging out with all my guy buddies. People are always shocked when they realize I'm a dipper. They say I don't fit the image. I wonder what that image is? Anyway. I've decided to try and quit but I know I'll need some fake stuff I'm trying to figure out which ones won't make your heart race. How about Jakes? Hv any of yall tried it and is it caffeine free and herbal free? Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.
Mis, welcome.

I tried Jake's Mint - chopped up leaves, dries out quickly, odd taste.
Smokey Mountain is made from corn silk and has a much more familiar texture, wintergreen tastes similar to a lifesaver.
