Hello everyone. I was hoping someone may have an answer for me. I am 7 days quit but the spot where I normally dip is still sore like it was a lot of the time I was dipping. There isn't an ulcer there its just kinda sore when I press with my tongue. Is it normal to still be sore. I guess I'm just scared I'm quitting one day too late.
Finding stuff like this right after you quit is totally normal. Happend to me too.

In all likelihood, you're just now finding stuff that was always there... you're just now in tune to it now that you're quit.

That said, there's nothing wrong with going to the dentist to get it checked out. It will give you great peace of mind and will give you a great start to your quit.

I don't have any experience with a Husqvarna.

I've NEVER had a bad experience with my Stihl products.

I am hoping y'all can provide some input with regards to snuff alternatives. I have read all of the reviews on this site and have searched dozens of stores in my area to try some of them. I cannot find anyone that carries it. I plan to order it online but don't want to order 10 different kinds to find one that tastes like Copenhagen. Which brand and flavor tastes and feels similar to cope long cut or even snuff?

I am on day one and I feel pretty good but the gum and sunflower seeds are already getting old. Is there anyone in the Houston area that knows of a store that carries a variety?
I hear from others that they sell it at Walmart. Did you try there yet?
P.S. are you going to post roll in December? You are not quit in our eyes until you make your promise each day.
Not yet, I have tried several gas stations and places like CVS and Walgreens. I got a text from a friend who quit several years ago, he says there is a Tobacco Barn near my house that sells Smokey Mountain. I have tried his and it was too sweet for my taste. If that's all they sell I'll try it again. I will try anything at this point but I'm not going back.

Yes, I will post roll. I will login every morning and do it first thing. I have read up on how to do it. The only question I have is which area of the forum to post it in. You asked if I was going to post in December. Shouldn't I post everyday or is there an area for December members?

Sorry for the questions, I am still new to this.
In community there is a section called "Quit Groups" Open that and in there toward the Bottom you will see a header for all the Months. Open December 14.
The instructions for posting roll are in the "Welcome Center"
Done. I am getting ready to leave work. I think this will be the first time I have ever driven home from work without snuff in my mouth. Man it's so weird the things we think we love. I have always looked forward to getting in the truck and taking a dip. I have never even tried to quit. Maybe day 2 will be better.
You're not trying, you are doing....You can mail order some stuff too, if you want the fake stuff. Hooch may even offer a coupon or something for you...

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.

hey everyone. today is day number 2 of not chewing and yes after 33 years of dipping it is very hard to give it up. No i am not doing it cold turkey, i am using the patch so the cravings are not bad but the not having something in my lip is really what is hard to forget about. a buddy of mine gave me a can of the BACC Off and yes it does taste like dirt but it is something. 'arse' So here is to killing the can for good.
Sorry to tell you this but if you are using a patch, you are NOT quit. We are 100% Cold Turkey here. If weening off nic is your choice then you will need to find another support site. If you want to quit, rip off the patch and free yourself from nicotine. I did it 183 days ago after dipping for 23 years. You can do it too.

Hey guys, I've been observing this site for months but just joined today. I started dipping about 5 years ago. I've attempted to quit several times, but every time I cave , i start dipping more Than I did before. I am a career firefighter at a fairly large department, and every single one of my partners I have had dip the same brand and flavor I do, making it hard to resist packing a fatty! It has become habit for me to put a dip in after a strenuous call, especially after the gruesome, fucked up calls we get from time to time. All of my buddies dip as well. My wife has begged me to quit, we've made compromises, and nothing's worked. It usually ends up with me resenting her. I have been dipping at work behind her back. In the mornings I tell myself " don't go to the gas station, you don't need it anyways" and next thing I know, I'm back in my truck with a fresh can. I definitely feel like it is taking over, and I'm ready to do this for ME. I am man enough to admit that I have an issue, and that I need help. The second someone says the word "dip" my gums start to burn and that real sticky spit shit starts to build up in my mouth. I ordered some smokey mountain this morning and am open to any suggestions. Thanks guys 'bang head'

Day 13. I know its normal to experience soreness of the tongue. Is it normal to feel pain in my jaw like under my ears? Also experiencing pain on the sides of my neck.
Jaw pain is normal, my was hurting as well. I was chewing a ton of gum and that didn't help.
I made a follow-up appt with my dentist and everything checked out okay.
Wait it out for a bit but if it still bugs you make an appt and get it checked out, it will help you sleep.
Charles
Your mouth, jaw, tongue, etc will go through several healing stages. If anything lasts longer than 2 weeks, get it checked out or if it really concerns you. After 182 days I still get that occasional "what the hell is that"? and it turns out ok. We just freak out about it more now that we have rid ourselves of the nic bitch. Good job on asking about this.
