Not sure is the place to post. I've chewed for 33 years. I am 46 years old and started chewing during JV baseball. I have quit today for the last time. I would have had 4 chews by today, so pretty proud of myself. I notice that I am already telling people things I normally hold back..like the truth.
It's liberating, isn't it? When you finally make that choice to kick her ass to the curb? It's a great feeling.

Now hold on 'cuz she don't go quietly.

Go to the Welcome Center and start reading.

If you get all crunched up, send me a PM and I'll hook you up.

Welcome to your freedom, brother.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

7 days - The tricks my mind are playing on me are unbelievable 'bang head' . It's like my conscience keeps trying to get me to dip again by tricking me into thinking it's not that bad, or that I can have just one more dip. Not giving in though, this website is an incredible resource and reading the stories and struggles others are going through helps immensely.

chris....we do not quit any other way besides cold turkey. Any other method is just delaying the inevitable withdrawal. I would like for you to reconsider your method and join the community here at KTC. Our program has a proven track record and a very high success rate. Private message me with any questions you might have. I hope to be hearing from you soon.
You're not lost, you're right where you should be, cold turkey is the ONLY way to quit. We all did it and so can you. Yes, it is hard, but it is sooooo worth it. October is your quit group. Run in there and post roll to find out just how much support you will have and how many others are doing it with you. Quitting is NOT easy, but it IS absolutely doable!!
Don't worry about 1 month; we quit one day at a time. I'm guessing your young by your post and suggest you need to adjust your attitude. Stand tall and show everyone your a man and can take control!

Have any of you have tried the "fake" chew? Do you find that it helps or does it intensify your craving for the real thing? Which one is the best? I've tried smokey mountain and I can't say that I'm a big fan.
I used hooch wintergreen... helped quite a lot with the craves.
There are some pretty good reviews of all different products ------ HERE.

Find what works for you, Christke. It may end up not being fake chew but there are other options. Commit to do whatever it takes to keep nicotine out of your system.

Add me to the list of people on the quest to quit. I am on day 6 of no nicotine after using for 15 years. The last few days have been rough, but I have held strong. No nicotine at all. My biggest problem is that I used to dip for relaxation after a long day at work and getting the kids to bed. I am not a drinker (and don't want to be one) so now I need to find a new way to have 'me' time to relax that doesn't involve a dip.

But I know I am doing this for the right reasons and I don't want to waste the hell I have gone through and go back to nicotine. I am hoping that the cravings lesson and I find a new way to relax and enjoy 'me' time that doesn't involve a dip.
Exercise helps with stress, sleeplessness and releases happy juice. Trident gum, seeds or fake chew can help fill the void on the oral side. Stay hydrated! None of this means much if you aren't on roll. Our quest is really just a 24 hour walk about with company. Step right up, shout if you need anything.

Just wanted to say finding this site has been a blessing. Ton of great info that has help me to reach Day 33 nic free of a 34+ year addiction. Great to be quit with you.
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you. Let us know how we can help.

chewie
Dipstick, 37 days is a heck of a lot further then I ever got on my own. The only way I ever quit was this daily promise. If you aren't making it, you aren't reading enough. Guard your quit, fight to get on roll. Two posts in 30 something days usually means there's another day one soon. You don't want to go through this again, do you? Find your group and lend a hand. Let's roll!
