Day 24 is coming to a close. Today was off and on fog pretty much all day long. I was hoping to get more work done at my job today but I really had trouble focusing. That Eagles victory I was at yesterday probably contributed to that. LOL

I've been reading some of the quit group threads that are ahead of my group to try to get an idea of what to expect down the road. At 24 days you'd think that most of the water is already under the bridge but apparently I still have some rough days ahead of me. I shouldn't be too surprised as I know I've quit in the past by myself for lengthy periods of time and I always ended up right back using nicotine again. I've concluded that quitting alone sucks. Maybe some people can do this but I think I need folks to lean on.

There was a pretty intense argument the other day about posting roll and the policing of roll in the November 15 thread. At issue was a member missing roll by accident and how zealous folks were about calling him out on it. I can see both sides of this. No one wants to be a jerk but you are a jerk if you don't speak up while someone caves.

I think this is where having digits and other folks having your digits comes into play. If I have the digits, when I see that someone in my group is not on roll late in the day I send them a text, just a quick "how are you doing, you aren't on roll" message. I've had a 100% success rate with this so far. I want this to work the other way around too. If I'm not on roll I'd hope my phone starts buzzing as the day moves along. I think that is the way it should work. Yeah might be a little scary giving out your phone number to a stranger but it might also save your life someday. It also might save that stranger's life. :D

Day 248 - I thought I would shamelessly quote myself from day 24 as this one was pure gold. ;)

At day 248 sometimes it feels like we are asking "who's still here?". This is why we all need to build a web of support - all of the people in my web are still here. We may not chat every day but we do touch base every now and then. The path to success is to quit with as many people who will check on you as possible. Help someone else stay quit and it will help you stay quit. If someone in your web goes missing tap their thread and see where they are - and if they want to tap out make a few new threads. Protect your quit.

I can't wait to post roll tomorrow. :)
Exactly right stranger! It takes just a minute to make your daily promise. Literally a few seconds. It also takes a few seconds to stop at the local 7-11. He decisions we make seal our fate.
Stranger , I have watched you grow in ktc, you my friend are a badass quitter and very helpful and say the right things at the right time! Damn proud to be quit with you!
You are wise beyond all 50 of those years Stranger. Every new quitter would give themselves a pretty good jump start by reading this intro start to finish. You are a bedrock of this place, and you have shown many a new quitter (including those approximately 2 months ahead of you) how to get this done. Hats off to you Stranger.

Outstanding work getting to the second floor. You are a great member of the December '15 Disciple group and thanks for leading the way. Beers soon!
Stranger you are one of the biggest inspirations on this site. Thank you for your support.

It is an honor to quit with you today. And I can't wait to post tomorrow!!!
congrats on your 200 days strngrdngr!!
Congrats on 200 Stranger! It keeps getting better!
A day late and a dollar short....story of my life. Just wanted to drop in and provide you a congrats (if belated) on hitting that 200 mark! Keep plugging!
Congratulations my brother and friend! 200 is badass. Keep paying it forward!
Thanks to you all! I am blessed to have so many people caring about me. :)

I'm really here by accident. I quit before I found this web site, but finding this web site is definitely the reason why I posted a day 200 the other day. Quitting by myself never worked.

For the new folks - yes there will be noise and drama but at the end of the day all that matters is that you stayed quit TODAY. Tomorrow will sort itself out tomorrow. I quit with you all today and I can't wait to wake up and post again tomorrow! :)
