Hope to to see you posting your day 2 (or is it 3) roll call here soon. Just checking in on you.
g-Booz.... My recommendation is to post roll first thing in the morning. Where u at?

As far as dentist... For now, focus on staying quit today. That needs to be your sole focus. Anything else such as dental exams and eye exams just adds stress. Forget about it right now. One day you will be ready to go. I would not worry about it today.

Post roll and quit.

You need to go to the dentist. You already know this, but don't want to admit it. Just schedule a cleaning, you'll feel so much better getting it behind you. It's one more nagging doubt you can conquer. Make an appointment. Today.

This first day has been rough so far but I think days 2 and 3 are going to be much harder. I managed to get past the lunchtime ritual of a fat lip with the help of some beef jerky.

I like the pushup idea. Definitely going to try that out next time I get a craving and I'm not in an office full of people :D

Water it is... Lots of it.

I guess I'm rather fortunate that I was never the type to start my day off with a dip. It's always been coffee. Any time I tried to have a dip in the morning it always made me queasy and about 30 minutes after I'd have to take a shit. Not to mention, I always came away with a raw jaw for some reason. Perhaps a difference in pH in the morning.

Any advice on dealing with dentists? I know I should go, but I'm deathly afraid of going into any medical office, let alone someone who is going to fuck with my teeth and mouth. I have a hard time getting an eye exam without getting nervous (one thing I won't miss is dip fingers when I put my contacts in!!). I haven't been to a dentist in forever and have a regular ritual of brushing, flossing, and rinsing. Never had any pain in my teeth, they are just slightly yellowed from the "bitch" and coffee.
You got this, bro. The fog and mild headaches are still fresh in my mind, too. Focus on those and keep reminding yourself that that's the poison leaving your system -- it's your body  mind getting healthy again. Pain, especially in this case, is all relative. You've made it through, what, a full day, nearly two? Guess what? You're still here. Still functioning enough to be able to post roll, add some comments, and absorb more info on the site. Your nic-free lifestyle is being reborn. Embrace it. Quit on.

grad...
rdad is right. Give it about a month, but definitely do go see the dentist. I went on Day 24. Of course I got scolded for dipping for 15 years, and out came the hand mirror to point out my gum recession, etc. etc. And the cute dental hygienist wagging her finger at me and frowning disapproval.

However, after the lecture was over, I did win high praise for quitting and my dentist was very interested in the KTC story. He is always looking for ways to help people quit the nic. He sees a couple patients a day that are dippers and knows how enslaved they are (we were). I explained the KTC method, and he liked the idea so is now spreading the gospel according to KTC!

Nice job postin up for day 1. Stay focused on this quit ODAAT.

I see you are worrying about how hard day 2 and 3 are.... forget about that bro. Only worry about the day in front of you -- today. That is all you control. Who knows... maybe tomorrow and the day after will be a breeze. All I know is that you don't control that... you do control your actions today. Worrying about things you don;'t control will create unnecessary stress. Keep quit today. Keep that garbage out of your mouth. Do whatever it takes.

Glad to have you here! Quit with you today.
Derk is right on the money here. Forget about the next couple days. Worry about today. That's all. In addition, you have no idea what the couple days will be like anyway. They might well be a walk in the daisies. Why assume anything at all? Focus on today. Welcome aboard.
I have control over my quit. There's no luck involved. - Diesel2112

Nice job on your first day. Do the exact same thing again tomorrow. That's it.
As far as the dentist I think don't worry about it till after your first month. then just go. Don't be a puss. I had not gone to the dentist in 5 years. I was sick of hearing the same old shit every time. I went around day 60 and got a glowing review. You need to find out that everything is ok anyway after all the abuse. Plus it was nice to get a pat on the back from the dentist that had been bitching at me for so long. :D

You posted in May and you didn't fuck it up.
What are you, some kind of genius? Everyone screws it up (almost).
Post every day and don't use nicotine in any form. Repeat daily. That's the bare minimum. Go into Chat. Make some contacts here, get a quit text group going. Read and then read some more, little nuggets of wisdom scattered all around here. Drink a shit ton of water and exercise. When you get a crave, bang out push ups until you beat it. I got this and so do you!

Hi, just noticed your post in the May pre-HOF thread. I didn't see it because it was at the top of the list... no biggie, just I always look at the bottom of the list for most recent posts.

I quit 11 days ago, we're in the same quit group. The first three days were the toughest days of my life. The last 8 days have still sucked, but they weren't as bad.

Today is the first day I don't feel like an absolute raging maniac. I'm actually quite calm today and my brain is clear.

Getting through the past 10 days seemed like a lifetime, but looking back over the last 10 days only feels like, well, about 10 days. It's doable, it's worth it, even at day 11.

PM me for contact info if you need somebody to text or call during a bad craving.

I quit yesterday...and this site really helped more than I realized.

I actually quit on Sunday but cheated like a girl with nic gum.

When you get an urge...read this site.

I look forward to graduating with you.
Likewise Kayak. If you need chat or just want to vent shoot me a PM. This won't be easy but we can do it!
That's the way to do it guys- build out a network for accountability and support. You won't believe how much it helps keep your quit solid. It helps so much to have others go through and who have gone through the same things. Keep doing whatever it takes, get that freedom back- you won't believe how nice it feels!
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!
