So Monday through Friday you have no contact with the outside world?! That sounds odd.

It is pretty standard. Fire Academy is the same way. It literally is "weekday" boot camp, much like I believe you cannot have access to the outside world except for a few hand written snail mail letters in the military during your boot or basic (whatever they call it)

Deerslayer, you have the opportunity due to your circumstances. That does not mean you will utilize it. These guys are jerks and they may talk down to you, but they quit and you have not yet. They earned it, you are still a bitch to a weed in a can.

Stick around and get some digits, these guys will be your best buds when shit does get tough, and it will. If Police academy is anything like Fire academy and firefighters/EMS culture/world, just because it is banned that doesn't mean there won't be a can somewhere there.

Never heard of a police or fire academy that had you locked up all week. And no phone usage ? What's that supposed to teach you ? Hey deer you pm'd me once and I returned. So holler back.
To focus on the task at hand, Academy. You start your morning at 7am with PT and between classroom and field work and PT you finish at around 6pm. Study for a few hours until lights out and don't have time to get on facebook, or text your BFF. The state or county, or city is not paying you to socialize.
That's bullshit. If someone is alive then they can post roll every fucking morning.
Once again you are failing to realize the point. I am not defending Deerslayer, I am just stating that if indeed he is going to a state academy they might have rules like the one I went to. You will literally be removed from academy and lose the job you have been accepted into if you break certain rules. One being no cell phones on academy grounds during the week. Quitting is important, quitting my career job before I even begin because of KTC makes posting roll take the back burner.
Well my point was that academies start at a certain time and end at a certain time. Never heard of them owning anyone 24 hrs a day.
You still don't understand, this is a 24 hour deal. He lives at the facility Monday through Friday. That is how mine was and that is what I gather Deerslayer is partaking in.

Fire/Police and some EMS organizations are paramilitary in operation.

If I am mistaken Deerslayer can correct me when he returns next weekend.
It is what it is folks, sometimes we just have to take someone's word as the truth. He said he can't post or communicate with the outside world while at the academy, I will believe him. He did come post his first weekend out, so that is good. His true test will come when he gets out of the academy when every 3rd guy on the street is dipping and his first midnight shift in trying to stay awake and type a domestic violence report at 0300 hours after already working 8 hours going call to call, or standing some post on the perimeter of a homicide for 8 hours in the middle of the night with nothing to do. That is when Deerslayer will find out about what his quit is worth to him. For now he gets a pass with roll as long as he posts on the weekends............

It happens a good bit actually. Same basic concept as boot camp. You are immersed in the training environment. No phone, no keys, hell, no food other than what they issue. That's how my first fire academy was. The good thing is since he appears to be a rule follower, he won't try to sneak a can of cancer in and partake in the forbidden nic. Keep up the quit brother.
You're Quit, Not Cured. KTC will help remind you of the difference.

Yeah, I got stories. My life is an open glory hole, you want sad, gross, bukkake? Bottom line is that you can do this, get the digits of some bad ass quitters and be quit.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.
