Life happens man.

IÂ’ve seen new quitters, with 50 or fewer days:

-lose family members suddenly
-lose jobs
-return home to see their possessions cleaned out, and wife and kids moved out.

Last night a new quitter in May 2018 had one of these situations happen. To see how the May family pulled together to offer support to this person, who none of them have ever met, is what this place is all about.

2 months ago I promise you that the fine quitter that is experiencing a true life crisis right now would have caved last night. This morning, after reading the avalanche of support that was thrown out to her, both her quit and that whole groupÂ’s quit are stronger than ever... and the relationships that are forged will solidify their path forward. I get your anger and rage... addiction sucks bro. But why you are ignoring a bunch of winners telling you how to win and blowing everyone off, I do not understand. And so IÂ’ll say...

I really would like to see you win and succeed this time. But if you donÂ’t have interest in quitting the ktc way, I have no help or advice to give you. Because any other way I tried failed. Good luck.

I made it quite clear in the last sentence of my post.
Then why haven't you posted roll? How are you going to get support if you don't jump in.

I have an offer for you... you did it your way for 3 years, and found some success.

Why not try it our way for a bit? drink the kool-aid, get active, post roll every day first thing. Let's take this One Day at a Time and see how many days we can add up!
I agree get on roll and commit! Try it our way just this once. What is the harm if it doesn't work or you don't like it, you can disappear. If it does work, well dammit then you're Quit.
I don't like the "tough guy internet bully" talk either. So how do I show them? I post roll every day and remain quit. It has worked for nearly 4 years - that'll teach 'em!

The system works, why rock the boat?
Seems if anyone should be yelling and screaming, it is you. Take a look in the mirror and see what you'd become because you became arrogant and ignorant - even though the "you can't have just one" has been preached on this site for over 11 years.

Look, none of us here can Quit for you, You stopped for a period of time, and now ant to get back on the horse. Great. But I don't see the action. So far, I call bullshit. What have you got to say when someone doesn't believe you because there is no follow through on your words?

Talk is cheap.

BTW, my wife was in your group. She posted 2,262 days of freedom today. Sure, she could have done it another way. She decided to dive into KTC and get Quit. Maybe you should take some advice from the lady of my house and get to posting daily and learning who your quit-mates are...and get involved.

Or you can do it your way...with your results.
^^Truth.

If you want to quit here, then quit here. Not too many rules, just follow them and fall in line. Yeah, there are jerks here. Ignore them. There are good people here. Listen to them.

You learned the "Law of Addiction". That is huge. Teach it to new quitters.
Don't ignore the jerks. They can offer just as much value as the good people. Everyone who is here and quit has walked the walk and talked the talk and drank the kool aid that is KTC. The good, the bad, the ugly, they all have value and purpose in this quit community. If the jerks hurt your feelings, so be it. You're offended? Great, what now? You don't like how a quitter came at you because you caved? So what. They are still quit. You are not. Want to show them, do it then. Quit every day in spite of them and for yourself. There are many psychological angles to be analyzed in why some quitters act and message as they do. That is not important. What is important is that your cave angered them because they cared. Pick yourself up, take the berating, and show up every day. The military has a method to instill conformity so as to prevent weakness and death in the direst of conditions. KTC has adopted a similar mindset.
There is no doubt that a psychiatrist could make a career out of analyzing the various personalities on KTC. There are definitely some run of the mill jerks, narcissistic jackasses, and even a few passive aggressive asshats roaming the halls looking to instigate trouble.

I am not going to lie. I have dreamed several times about how awesome it would be to meet some of these people in person and then punch them in the face. But, when you really think about it we aren't all that different from each other. We want to quit tobacco, and we want you to quit tobacco. Successful marriages have been built on less than that. Just because somebody has zero social skills it doesn't necessarily mean they don't have anything important to say. Believe it or not, they are trying to help you.

If you have thin skin maybe it would be better for you if you tried to ignore some of the troublemakers. But, if you do decide to ignore the personalities I would highly recommend you at least listen to the message they are trying to deliver. It might save your life.

Take what you need and leave the rest. One day at a time. I wish you the best and I hope you are successful.

From my post history you'll see that I went through KTC back in 2012 with great temporary results. I quit for over 3 years.
Fixed that for you.

(1) Great results doesn't mean that you temporarily stop using nicotine. Great results means that you make a decision, follow through with that decision, and keep following through with that decision. There is no participation trophy in quit.

(2) "Quit" means that you quit using and never started using again. "Stopped" means that you temporarily chose not to use. Don't think the two words are synonymous.

You can do this. I know you can because I am. I have been before you came here. I'm still here today. It's not rocket science. It's quit.

Don't get angry. We want you to be quit. You've got to realize that we are working hard for our quits. We didn't come here to stop. If you did, I would rather you go elsewhere. If you want to quit though, you are welcome. You returning makes us realize how easy it is to fuck up this precious gift we have earned. What are you willing to do to be quit?
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. Hey man, I really didn't set out to offend you.

See, I failed myself almost every day for 25 years and told myself that I would quit that day. Almost every day I was back at the Quik Trip jonesing to get my fix. I failed myself every day. I haven't let the team down once. Are there other ways to quit other than KTC? None that have worked for me. I tried patches. Gums. Chantix. I tried the online help and classes that my company offers. I failed all of them. Then I found KTC. And I haven't missed posting one day. Why would I? Its free, its fast, and it works for me.

I joined, and I posted some lame intro talking about my good friend Kodiak and how much I was gonna miss it. And some guys with big balls hanging from the back of their trucks quickly schooled me.

Here's what I can promise you. If you post roll, and you are a man of your word, you won't fail. If you post roll and let your team down, you aren't a man of integrity. If I didn't think you were a man of integrity, I wouldn't waste my time typing this to you. So I've made an assumption... and I'm gonna roll with it.

You can try other ways of quitting, but if you are gonna quit here, bud you owe yourself and everyone on here more than 33 posts in hundreds of days. You owe us, and yourself, your daily promise.

I wish you the best of luck in whatever path you choose. But I will tell you, this is no joke. Read my buddy Traumagnet's intro up at the top of the page if you don't believe me. Quitting the KTC way works, and can make your life better in all sorts of ways. I really hope you join us.

BTW - I've always wanted a truck. I would look bad ass in a Ford Raptor. There aren't any sand dunes in the Midwest, but I still think I need one. If I do get one, I'll hang the biggest swinging set of truck nutz from it that you've ever seen. In chrome. I've never discussed vehicular testicles in an intro before. But it somehow seems ok here.

Hi Clay. Well, to be real honest with you... looking at your “posting history” it is not surprising to me that you caved. And, I see that you haven’t posted roll in your old group and new group.

Here we quit one day at a time. EVERY DAY. I commend your lengthy stoppage, but bro you didnÂ’t ever QUIT here. You stopped. You never bought into the BROTHERHOOD + ACCOUNTABILITY = SUCCESS. Here we quit together, as a team. Our first thought when our eyes open is... holy shit I have got to post roll right now! You can do this, bro, but you better change your ways quick or you are on your way to another epic cave, I suspect.

By the way, in addition to posting roll EVERY DAY in your new and old group, you owe both of them and this intro very very very thoughtful answers to these 3 questions:

1. What happened?
2. Why did it happen?
3. What are you going to do differently this time?

IÂ’m close to hitting 2,000 days. You should be ahead of me. ThatÂ’s gotta sting. DonÂ’t fuck around with this. Chewing tobacco will kill you if you donÂ’t wake up.
On the one hand, this website is an amazing tool to help especially during the early months of your quit with an incredible support/accountability system.

On the other hand, the tough guy cow-balls-hanging-from-the-back-of-my-pickup truck attitude that some of the members have is a major turnoff, but alas.

Using this website every day for the rest of your life isn't the only way to quit. In fact, of the hundreds of thousands of people who have permanently quit nicotine successfully, not even a fraction of a per-cent of them have even heard of KTC. So insinuating that I caved after 3 years because I didn't post here every day is quite silly, in my opinion.

However, you do raise some good questions that I feel are helpful.

1) What happened? I didn't believe that just having 1 dip would lead back to full-on addiction again. I was wrong, as many, many had told me. Lesson learned

2) No particular reason other than arrogance I suppose. Ignorance as well, as that was my first ever quit.

3) Truly believe that 1 dip = making the decision to become enslaved again.

I'll be looking to find a quit group to join. Looking forward to the support that this site is so great at delivering.
Sooooo... what are you doing here then??

I do not drive a truck... and I wasn't aware of cows having balls... Just asking an honest question...

If you have this all figured out, what are you doing here??

Clay, I combined your old Intro posts with the new one. One intro per customer. ItÂ’s important to remember where you came from and why you failed before.

Worktowin laid it out for you. You need to pick it up and run with it if you want to be successful.

Also, things have changed since 2012, you may want to update the RG3 avatar.
