Thanks for all of the positive comments. Yesterday was a good day, didn't have it as bad as day 1. But I know there are still plenty of obstacles.

Have half a bag of seeds left and a pack of gum for today. I gotta continue to stay strong and go one day at a time.

Welcome Chad, we're glad to have you! Quitting dip is the best decision I've made in a long, long time... and I make that decision early every morning alongside my Quit brothers. I could probably afford a 60" flat screen Smart TV with all the money I've saved in the last 6 months from quitting the poison for good.

Listen to these Vets- it will be a HUGE struggle early on, and don't worry about fudging up Roll the first few days. You'll get the hang of it. The only way to F up roll is to not be on it! Nice work loading up on the alternatives. They'll come in handy. Gum and mints work wonders, especially those Lifesavers Peppermints.

You've got this, brother. See you on Roll tomorrow morning.

I went out to a store that doesn't sell dip (cant trust myself yet) and bought some seeds and a three pack of gum.

I want to quit, I need to quit for my health. And I wanted to say hi, because I want to make it through each day knowing that I can get up the next morning and go to roll call.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Nice intro Chad and welcome. I saw you already posted roll which means you have given all of us and yourself your word that you will not use nicotine in any format today. Keep that promise and you've successfully completed your first cycle. On that note, if you haven't had any dip since yesterday, today is day 2 for you. The day you flushed it all and took out your last dip is your day 1.

This won't always be easy, but get to know the guys in your group. Build your accountability. If you use this site as intended, it is likely to save your life. Again welcome and proud to quit with you today Chad.

1 can of dip has 3X the amount of nicotine as 1 pack of cigarettes. It is no wonder giving up dip has been more difficult.

You won't miss that stale wet tobacco smell in your car which will be gone in the next 30 days!

Your number belongs to you and you only. If you want to change it to a 2 (I would want to) then by all means head back into your group and change it to a day 2. While you're in there, try to get a feel for some of your Novembros that you think can help you on your path here. Send those guys PM's and swap digits. Welcome. It's an eerily similar story to the thousands of other addicts here. Hell we've all been there; start with a dip from a friend, buy a tin (ends up lasting a week +), then the habit grows and before you know it you're wasting $3-6/ day all to give yourself cancer. I mean how crazy is that; there's enough shit in the world which can kill us and we all consciously made the decision to pollute our bodies all while paying for it!

You've made a good move coming here. I too had tried quitting a few times prior to coming here and the accountability and commitment level has been amplified all by doing something as simple as posting roll daily. And although it feels like we're going this alone sometimes we have the support and words of wisdom from thousands of fellow QUITTERS.

If you're really ready as you say you are you should be golden, use the board and other members and by all means grab yourself some fake chew or seeds or anything not tobacco related to take your mind off any bad cravings that may arise. I've found they help tremendously but due to limited availability in my area some pre planning was needed and I stocked up.

Find the November quit group and be sure to post roll in there daily. As I said it'll add a level of accountability to the quit.
