Ain't this the truth. Been there hundreds of times, Kennedy. Fighting back with you today.

Thanks all for the inspiration.

Something happened that actually didn't happen this week. I had a crazy week. Worked a ton of hours and had hoards of things go wrong. In all of the craziness, I realized something, I took care of everything without a dip in my mouth. The old, chemically addicted me, would have attributed everything going wrong to me not having my dip. I was really brainwashed.

I want to really take the time to thank this site and everybody who takes the time out to help others. I feel great at day 11.

It's funny how your mindset changes the older you get. I still beat myself up for playing Russian roulette with my health all those years. I know now that I can only worry about the thing I can control. I TOOK THAT STEP 11 DAYS AGO. It feels great not to be living a lie anymore.

"LIKE MY LIFE DEPENDS ON MY QUIT! "
"LIKE MY LIFE DEPENDS ON MY QUIT! "
"LIKE MY LIFE DEPENDS ON MY QUIT! "

I'm thinking that should be somewhere in your signature line!

Your life.........

It's one you haven't experienced 100% clean yet!
It's worth quiting everyday.
Is gonna make an impact on your family.
Is not deserving to live in chains.
Has been sold out to a drug.
Will always be lived out as an addict.
As an addict is not a bad thing unless you use your character to harm yourself or others.
Will always need support and additional wisdom to become what it is capable of.

Congrats on making a new great decision with your life.

I quit with you today. EDD ODAAT.

Welcome, and congratulations making it 3 days without tobacco your own! Now you can share you success with the rest of us. Your September group is a lively bunch of quitters who will be greeting you shortly. Post roll first thing in the morning and hang tough in that quit through the weekend. I spent years thinking I was better than smokers because I kept that nasty shit out of my lungs, until I did an internet search and learned the dip delivers 3X the nicotine to the blood stream compared to smoking. Talk about a nasty addiction! I am happy to hear that you woke up to reality at the age of 45.
Great decision to quit. I'm 48 and chewed for a long, long time. Didn't think I could quit. The most my quits ever lasted was for a few days - until now. On Day 101 now. I can't promise that I will be quit forever but I am for today and pretty certain for tomorrow. That mentality has helped me in this battle. Welcome and I'm happy to quit with you!

FINALLY!
« on: June 05, 2015, 08:29:00 PM »
I finally made the decision. At 45 years old, with a beautiful wife and two great kids, my dumb ass has finally decided that I have so much to live for. After 20 long years of being a slave to skoal, I threw the crap in the trash and haven't had a dip in three days. Smokey Mountain peach and mint have been my friends in this fight so far. I will win! I am thankful that I found this great site full of great people, and I will be leaning on all of you for support. Like many of you, I have attempted to quit, one time as long as two years! This time seems different to me though. Maybe seeing my baseball heroes of the past, once indestructible, be diagnosed with cancer. Tony Gwynn is gone and Curt Schilling is in remission but is a shadow of his former self. I will be praying for you Curt! I know I am rambling on, but these are the thoughts that I have been battling with lately. I can't actually believe that I used to actually search for information on the web to convince myself that smokeless tobacco wasn't as bad as advertised. WHAT A DUMB ASS! Anyway, day two, (yesterday) I was in a terrible dip fog. I think it's gone now though. I woke up this morning feeling great. Like I said, I attempted to quit many times before, 2 years, six months and so on for the last 20 years. Maybe that's why I wasn't in such a dip fog for long. Who knows, but I can say I feel completely different this time. LIKE MY LIFE DEPENDS ON MY QUIT! I am humbled to be posting on this great site. Thank You for your support.
