Two things I noticed when reading through your original intro post that I couldn't leave without comment.

1.) You used the word habit. Habits can be picked up and overcome whenever. Nicotine dependency is an ADDICTION. There are no cure for addictions; fighting against any addiction is a daily battle.

2.) Related to #1, you mentioned in your post something about "wanting to kick this addiction". Well like I said above, we will never "kick" an addiction. We can control it's affect on us by consciously fighting it one day at a time (ODAAT).

I used all of this terminology myself when I joined. And to some it may seem like a petty matter of semantics. But the sooner we all embrace the fact that we are ADDICTS is when we can can move forward and be successful ODAAT. Proud to be quit with you today!

Smitty,

You we did not see you post roll in February '19 today??   It is Monday.  It will not get any easier.  Just throw that shit out and post your promise dude.
WUPP:
1. Wake Up
2. Piss
3. Post
4. Repeat Daily

Its really that simple and really that hard.  It will suck but you can get through the suck.  Post up bro.

I chewed for 31 years and was at 3 cans a day when I decided to quit.  When I decided, it was for me and no one else.  You have to want to quit for yourself.  Make the decision and then just do it.

Thanks Chris, had a long talk with my Wife and threw the can out.

Make sure you let her read the Spousal support section on the main site so she knows what asshole you are going to be for awhile.  ;D
Smitty, great to see you still posting roll again today. It can be a tough grind to get through, but you have been through tough stuff before. You are stronger than nicotine wants you to believe, so keep posting and keep keping your word, ODAATEDD

Did “Quit now” get too real for you?

Not ready? All talk?

No activity in 3 days so my expectation that you won’t see this is pretty high and... I’ve been around long enough to see this hundreds of times. Sadly... I’m probably right.

BUT... if you come back and see this...

Dude, man up.
Own this and stop being owned.
Don’t be that pathetic “tomorrow” guy.

We’re addicts... you’re an addict. There is no definitive “tomorrow” for us because tomorrow ALWAYS breeds another tomorrow when you’re an addict.

Today.
Be a badass and own this shit today.
Freedom is waiting but you have to pay some dues in order to experience it.
It can be done.
I did it 2,044 days ago and have never looked back.
Own. This.

I’m ready.  It is simply not an option anymore.

Good luck man. I’m 45 and quit 5 days ago. It’s been tuff as hell and every night I’ve woke up with my heart racing out of a dead sleep. I’ve dipped for the past 20 years. Laying in bed right now on my 5 day of no dip just trying to get sleepy again. It’s tuff I’m not going to lie. Tug fest thing I’ve ever done and gonna keep on fighting to beat this

I hope you’ve hung in there man.  I just started.

Right on guys, will do.  Rationalization is crazy, this morning I kept telling myself, "Just get through class on Monday, you don't want to be a dick to your classmates right?"

There is always an excuse, it's just time to pay the price and kick this shit.

From what I understand, the tried and true method with this site is cold turkey.  Just going to ride this out and workout a lot.

^^^^these guys nailed it. Quit now. Don't wait, you'll just drag it out. I'm 38 and dipped for 21 years. If I can do it anyone can. It does get better. Post that day one. You'll find a TON of support here.

Agree with RDB, anybody can quit tomorrow.  It takes a true quitter to quit today.  Trust that it will be no easier Monday.  Just make that decision Smitty, there are many here who have your 6:00!
