I myself was not hooked on the oral fixation, but early in my quit triggers called for the fake to get me through a moment, or at least it did get me through moments. My Dentist shared that anything I put there was going to fuck up my gums, the balance I struck was gumlines could be fixed when I was done.

I still carry a can of fake with me just in case but that damn can hasn't been opened in over 6 months now. I could probably cut the tie but like still having a lifeline if I fall into a cave and are unable to post roll or send/receive text messages.
"If you want to quit then stop talking and just QUIT. If you want to kill yourself a bullet is cheaper and faster than a tin, plus it eliminates my hearing you whine and cry like a bitch."

Yeah, that's good.

Welcome, sir.
I have a question to anybody out there about the fake chew. I've read over and over about how this can help and I used one can of it the first week. My doctor told me that it didn't matter if it was chewing gum or a cherry seed...keeping it in the SAME POSITION is the real issue. The irritation in the same spot is bad news. Old ES may not be the sharpest tool in the tool box but that makes alot of sense to me. I'll stick with cold turkey...plus having to spit all the time WAS a pain in the ass. Now I'll just sit luggies and hock oysters like I did when I was 10 years old. Proud to be quit with all of you. "Take a suck", sweetie
I would tend to agree with your doctor.

The way the fake helps is for the oral fixation, as when using it there is none of the bad chemicals or the addictive substances that get into your system. So can use that as a replacement.

But yes the irritation will remain when using it, but for me after the 3 months I don't even use that anymore, and though maybe not healed 100% (due to being receeded), it is smooth as silk.
I didn't use any of the fake, but I can tell you this... I wasn't hooked on the oral fixation. I was hooked on nicotine. I'm still a nicotine addict. So are you. One little pinch is all that it would take to reignite the death dance.

Nicotine is a wicked monster. Completely under appreciated in terms of its addictive powers and damage not only to health, but to relationships, careers, integrity... The list goes on and on. I read your intro. You are an honorable man. Seem all american, a man that most boys would look up to. Would you sneak into a bathroom at work to snort a little coke? No... But you and I let an addiction rule our lives to the point that we stooped to that level a lot if times with nicotine. Shameful. Embarrassing. And disgraceful to us, much less those that look at us as leaders.

Today we are free! The ktc process is great. It works for quitting, but in the process you will discover a new you, and if you do this right (which you are) you'll make some new lifelong friends in the process. Some of the most honorable men (and women) that I've met have been from this site. And... I cannot imagine letting them, much less me, down. One of my first connections on this board is sportsfan from jan 13. His catch phrase... Stick around, make a friend. Sportsfan is a wise man.

Look at how many years you "lost". How many times you wanted to stop. And now you are quit! Losing sucks, and today you are winning at the thing in life that was a constant source of shame, disappointment, and failure. Plus you are saving a fortune and your life. How many wins is that?

You are really gonna like where you are headed. Yeah, there will be bumps ahead. In order to get big biceps and triceps, your arms are gonna burn a little? The pain makes the win even sweeter.

Quit with you today, ES.
Thanks worktowin - you've made some very valid points, which doesn't surprise me. Reading through some of your posts early in your quit really fired up my quit. I got a late start with the Sultan clan and have been trying to catch up. Proud to be quit with you.

Good stuff ES. Use this intro to track your quit; you'll want to come back and see how far you have come and remember you never want to be at day1 again. Sounds like you are drinking the KTC kool-aide. QLF with you all day.

Coach,

Our stories are so similar we could be twins. Right down to the day our second sons popped into this world! The fact you have been quit more than a month solo is a testament to your iron will. Folk like you will only add to the constitution of quit we got here in September. Welcome, and sorry I was such a suspicious gate-keeper when you first showed up!

Fuckin' A coach, welcome! Too damn bad Bill Gates didn't get on this internet thing earlier! . I quit with you today. See you tomorrow for another.
Welcome ES. You are in the right place. Sounds like you've got a helluva good start on your quit. Use that hatred for that bucked-toothed cunt to fuel your quit. Just stay vigilant cause you've been around long enough to know that ugly bitches are like mopeds...their fun to ride until your friends see you on them. i.e. don't get caught with your pants down.
ES your intro struck a cord with me. My 6 year old grandson is and has been my shadow since he could walk and several times in the tractor he asked me what I was eating. He was actually what made me gain the desire and admit I couldn't quit alone. Our stories have so many similarities and we're about the same age. Remember how bad it sucks so you aren't tempted to repeat it. I'll quit with you every day.
