Tried to quit in past
Sadly, it looks like yet another failed attempt. You gotta be ready to fight for your life. You gotta learn to hate nicotine for all its done to you. It turned me into a liar, a cheater, and a thief. I am a brand new man now that I'm quit.

Welcome to the brotherhood Mike. It is going to be a long crazy ride but all of us in the BROTHERHOOD are behind you 100%.
Make that promise to not pick that can up ever again, you will want to, but don't give in to the Nic Bitch. She will whisper sweet nothings in your ear to get you to re-commit to her, I now she is sexy to look, she is a 10 right now, but like the saying goes, I went to bed at 2 with a 10 and woke up at 10 with a 2. That's what she will look like after some time a 2, then she will just disgust you to look at her. Hang in there we are all here for you! 'bang head'

Come on Mike, you are here for a reason. 14 days on your own is badass now get into May16 and post roll promising that you will not use today. You can do this, take the first step in your freedom from nicotine.
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse. 02/05/15 9am

Hello name is Mike 51 years old. I am a little embarrassed to admit it has taken me 37 years to finally quit chew.

Tried to quit in past with nicotine replacement therapy and NEVER worked. Stumbled onto this sight and it inspired me to quit cold turkey and I have made it 14 days.

I quit drinking 16 years ago and sober ever sense, so nicotine became that much more of a need than ever.

I have never belonged yet alone posted on an online forum, hope this posts.

You gotta be in it to win it. Read everything you can in here. I'm 51 also and it was 711 days ago I made the decision to be quit. It wasn't easy but it is doable. Just post roll daily and be a man of your word.

Old(er) guys rule. There's quit a few of us in here.

^^^^I can't really add anything considering this bad ass nailed it!

I will say this I can't stress enough the importance of roll and the Accountability. I tried to stop so many times on my own and I always failed until I came here.

Mike, welcome to KTC. You are not alone in the age 50+ and 35+ years of chew.

14 days cold turkey is a bad ass start to a quit. You are past the physical detox and onto the mind games. Key concept : nicotine is not a need, nicotine is an addiction.

It might seem strange posting in an online forum with a bunch of nicotine addicts, but it works.

Go to the May 2016 quit group and post roll, your daily promise to use no nicotine that day. Get to know your fellow quitters... they will reach 100 days quit in May along with you.

Nicotine is a powerful addiction. With the accountability of posting roll and the brotherhood of fellow quitters you can succeed in living free from nicotine.
