Know what, I apologize for that last post. I should have taken your words as motivation and so that's what I'm gonna do. For now on when I have cravings I'm gonna think of that fat retard murf on kill the can or anyone that thinks I don't have the "nuts" to quit. I should be thanking you, so I do.
Whatever it takes to stay quit you should do it. If coming in here and raging on us works then do it. You can start with me. I can take all the bullshit and the games.

Now go to January and post your promise to stay quit today and join us.

Stay quit

Well....today was another failure. Made it until about 9 and cracked like usual. Work had a little toll on me. Also had a lot of shit on my mind since I will be layed off from my job next week and don't know what I will do now since I'm currently not in school (want to go back but don't know what type of career I would like to go for) So I've kind of been in a slump and what do I do when that happens? Reach for the green bear. My 21st birthday is coming up in 9 days. Don't know if I should really attempt to quit before that (since drinking goes hand in hand with tobacco) or if I should just slow down and limit myself until after then try to quit. Too much indecision right now just makes it all worse
Whats worse: being out of a job or being dead because you stuffed your face like a dumbass?

You decide
Has anyone ever gotten a new job because they dip? Do you put that on the resume or just drip a little black tar spit on the paper? Name any problem that was solved because you had a dip in your lip?

I know your young and under the drug's spell, but if you want to quit you can do it. If you don't then I'm sorry for you. As others have said, if you embrace this quit and hit it hard you will have our support. DO NOT keep coming back and whining that it's too hard or oops I caved again.

SO are you ready for some QUIT? The CAN is in your court, flush it or stuff it in your face - your call.
This is not a place you try numb nuts. Look around, these people are serious about quitting. You are not. Grow the fuck up and strap on a set of testicles. Come back when you want to quit and don't just want to talk about quitting. If you want someone to hold your hand, go over to quit lite. If you want to make tough decisions and do the hard work, then this is the place. You are not ready. Come back when you get a spine.- Murf
Well thanks for the help and support homo. You're so tough I want to be just like you when I grow up. You're right maybe I'm not ready to quit. Mine as well bury me with that can in my back pocket.
We're not going to hold your hand around here and suck your cock to make sure you stay quit. You've got to quit because you want to quit and you know in your mind that NOW is the time to quit. So when you're ready to quit fingerbanging your can come on back and join us.

Dizzy I dont know what to say....I believe you want to quit, I really believe that. But I think you want one of us to tell you OK son Ill quit for you...Guess what cup cake? It doesnt work like that. I do have some good news though. You will quit one day. One way or the other. Dont be a fucktard like me and dip for 24 years before you put it down. Damn the money what kind of damage have I done to myself injesting that poison everyday for that long.

I also know this my young friend; if you do not want to quit, I mean really really want to quit, it wont work. You have to sack the fuck up, grit your teeth and manhandle this motherfucker. If you want to quit you are in the right place. Many people will help you through this. If you keep caving you will find support hard to come by. My number is a PM away. I hope you are man enough to do this.

Drizzy -

First 3 days are the worst. Being honest here. Get through those days and it is an amazing feeling. After that it is mind games. The nic bitch is tricky.

i could not be where i am at without this site and the people here. Post up everyday in your group and do it one day at a time.

Being clean is great. Everything is new once again.
Fuck em all and fucking no regrets.

Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings so that you shall come easily by what others have labored hard for.

So i've tried just around 10 times to try and quit chewing completely. I have not had much success in the past. In fact I've had no success to even make it past the 1st day. I'm only 20 been chewing consistently for 3 or 4 years. Didn't think it would be that hard for me since I'm still young. Man, was I wrong. I was just posting to see if anyone had any advice/secrets/tips to get me through day 1. It scares me knowing that I can't make it through the first day and have no idea what to expect on day 2...or 3...or for the next couple months :(
Welcome Drizzy,

Your making the right move brother!!! And you found the best place to help you with this fight!!!
Yes your young and have only been dipping for 4 years but that doesn't make you any less of an ADDICT!!!!
Read as much as you can on this site. Take an hour and just look around and read.
Everyone here has gone through your struggles.
I used sunflower seeds and sugar-free gum to get me through the beginning of my quit, that might help you. Exercise is a great outlet too.
You'll be hearing from some Veteran's of this site, pay attention and make it happen!!

Brian
Drizzy - doesn't matter whether you've been dipping for 1 year or 30 years. You have to fight thru the fog. I'm glad to see you here thinking about quitting. I don't know if you have dumped the cans or not. First off listen to brian, go and read about the quit. You will see that you are experiencing things like a lot of us did. I've tried to quit on my own over the last 30 years and I failed everytime. I tried to give it up for Lent, quit when kid was born, quit when I hit 30, on and on. I didn't really figure out how to quit until I found this site. Everytime that I thought about taking a dip, I thought about my brothers and sisters here at KTC. I promised them that I wouldn't dip today. I don't like to break my word. Guess what after you accept that when you post it's off the table for day, then when the crave hits, you pop in some fake stuff and say, I can't dip because I promised today. That's why it's important to post first thing in the morning and take the option off the table. The crave will pass and each time you become stronger!

SO make sure you have it very clear in your foggy brain that when you post you quit for the day. Then use exercise to burn the rage, stress and craves off. Pray for strength, and use candy, or fake stuff (mint) to get past the "need".

I'm a 30 year ex-dipper now posting up day 102. I'm old compared to you, if an old dog can learn to do the same damn tricks BUT WITHOUT A DIP then you can fight this battle too.

Send me a PM or email (use the buttons below this message) if you want my contact info.

Your on step 1, you are here. Now go to step 2 and promise/post

Welcome to the quit - dump the word try and just do it.

Rob
