Quit for a day and post in the December roll. I will be psyched to see YOUR NAME next to mine every day as we defeat this thing. I'm psyched for every name next to mine in the December roll! WE WILL BEAT THIS!

:D
I'll be there brother we'll beat this toxic bitch one day at a time!!
Well that didn't last long!
Maybe posting on roll didn't last long, I've been busy with grad school/work. I still haven't dipped though.

Good post though positive reinforcement always helps.
Hey nab you in the wrong place if you don't have 2 minutes to post your promise! You ain't no special butterfly we all have busy lives but find time to post our promise to our brothers and sisters! Think about it, you really wanna quit or post an update on Facebook? Grab your sac and get this done , it's what we do,post roll every damn day not just when it's convenient!
Im sorry that everyone feels that way. While this is a very important step for me its not the only thing in my life. Just because i dont post every day doesnt mean i should login and be greeted by negativity. These forums are supposed to be a support group where we help one another not post childish smart ass comments. If i dont have time to get on the computer its probably because i wasnt home, but that doesnt mean i didnt think about this site and my goals.

There should be no place for crap like that on these forums as it is the complete opposite of what this community strives to do.

Thanks to those of you that have posted in support.
I bet you always found time to make it to the stop and rob to pick up your can when you ran out. Make time for it. Do it from your smart phone when your taking a shit. Make it a priority to be here every day.

BTW, if you think this is coming on strong right now, wait till you do it own your own, cave and come back here crying about how you messed up.

This site proves every single day that if it is not a priority (daily posts and keeping yourself accountable) you will fail. I wish you luck but do not have high hopes of you beating this on your own.
Not going to argue with you about the validity of posting/not posting. Making time or not making time. People quit because they commit to it and they don't want to let themselves/others down. How they build that commitment determines their success rate. Some build it through posting on here every day, but that's not the only way to do it and its not the only tool this site offers.

Looks like I missed role today was busy responding to this crap and I'm late now. Does that make me an ass and a failure? Maybe in your eyes.

It means you didn't pay the cost of admission today. Don't be a smartass and don't be arrogant. You want to quit your way, let us know how it goes. You want to quit the KTC way, let's get to it. It's up to you. Only you can decide which way is right for you, but if you're here, everyone here will expect you to post roll with them, every day, and they're going to get up your ass if you don't. This way works. It might not be the only way that works, but like the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. There are plenty of examples of guys that couldn't do it any other way, but KTC works for them. I include myself in that group by the way. Get with the program or get out. Your choice buddy boy.

The only problem is no one here will really know if you are staying quit. You could cave at any time and no one here would ever know. Posting roll here every day solves that. Swapping digits with folks does too.

Hey nab! Welcome to the site, and congratulations on acting on a VERY good idea. It's time to quit.

It seems like you really resent nicotine and tobacco, and that's great. But one thing you want to be mindful of going forward is this notion that nicotine makes problems go away, or makes the world easier to deal with. It's something that even I have to remind myself to be mindful of, even 187 days in. Your addiction WILL try to convince you that dip is a cure-all, and you've got to be prepared to face that when it happens. You'll see this quote a thousand times during your time here on KTC. "Nicotine + a problem = 2 problems."

Believe me man, we ALL have thought of nicotine as being therapeutic when we were using. The cruel lie of nicotine addiction is that it casts the illusion of being a stress-reliever. Well, yes, nicotine does reduce ONE kind of stress...the stress of having low nicotine levels while you're addicted. You see, it isn't that a pinch of dip is helping you deal with problems or that the ACTUAL problem was even that bad to begin with, it's that you have a nicotine addiction to feed on TOP of whatever problem is going on in your life. And a nicotine addiction, if not fed, can cause stress and anxiety. Thus, we as addicts would associate dip with making things better, more manageable, or more enjoyable. Of COURSE fishing is more fun when you aren't jonesing for your nic fix. Of COURSE the movie is better when you're not mad enough to kill because your nic levels are low.

Thus...nicotine + a problem = 2 problems.

The good news is that there is a better way, and that's cold turkey quitting, which you so wisely have chosen to undertake! Yeah, you might be pissy, or anxious, or stressed for a while. But brother, having made it through those early days, I can tell you that it's one of the best things, if not THE single best things you'll do for yourself. And you'll find out that not only can activities be as enjoyable as they used to be with dip, they'll be MORE enjoyable because you won't be wondering when you can sneak in a dip.

Quit with you today!

- Invader

Hello nab, welcome to KTC, Im glad you foind your way here. If you are serious about quitting, this is the right place.. I will tell you nicely, probably alot nicer than you may her efrom some others here that if you join a quit group you will be expected to post roll call EDD (every Damn Day), and there are some tough SOB's on this site that will make damn sure you see the vast amount of tools on this site to keep you quit.

in the end it is up to you. I do worry about this from your original post tho: why can't I quit this crap. I'm cursed with an insanely addictive personality, but I'm also blessed with little to no withdrawal symptoms when I quit things like caffeine/nicotine

Looks to me like you may think since you dont get the headacehs or fog, that you dont have withdrawl symptoms, but bro YOU DO, YOU KEEP GOING BACK TO IT..

So my advice, admit you are an addict, get active in your quit group, reach out and help others like lwidman and RTistic have. Get some digits from peopel here, keep in touch with them, get a good plan to quit so next time a trigger comes, you wont cave!

Proud you are making the choice to do start this quit. Stay strong bro, we all are here for you. Most of all, QUIT QUIT QUIT!!!
I don't doubt that its addictive or I would have quit long ago, just every time I've quit caffeine or nicotine I haven't had headaches. You are correct though you can't have the mentality that this will be easy. If I thought it would be easy I wouldn't have tried and failed as many times as I have.

The biggest withdrawal symptom I've had is anger, which is odd to me because I'm not normally an angry person. Its something I'll have to focus on and work to avoid.

Thanks for the welcome posts!
HELL YA nicotine is an additive drug. it keeps you coming back for more. You WILL experience symptoms and it will test your will power so use KTC to help you overcome the smoke screen. You have our support!
